The Bruins are back home, defending the barn against the scurrilous Buffalo Sabres.
After 20 games, the Bruins are at 12-3-5, which is good for 1st place in the Atlantic, though not enough to catch up with the Caps.
What will be the lineup tonight?
Well, Torey Krug, and a bunch of young forwards are injured. Krug was officially placed on IR on Saturday.
Forwards Paul Carey & Trent Frederic were sent back down & Brendan Gaunce was called up and sent back down on Tuesday. Urho Vaakanainen is still up.
Patrice Bergeron will be a game-time decision, recovering from a lower body injury, but is expected to appear.
If Bergy cannot make it, expect Krejci and Coyle to each bump up a line and Par Lindholm to center a line with Bjork and Heinen.
Bruce Cassidy says he fully expects Patrice Bergeron to play tonight.
Brett Ritchie is out. Previous infection issue has flared up again.

This evening’s opponent are the Buffalo Sabres, who we have not seen since January. Since then, they mad a few personnel changes, the most significant was the acquisition of forward Jimmy Vesey, fresh off the NY Rangers’ fire sale, and former Bruins Colin Miller from the Golden Knights, and Marcus Johansson from free agency. They are currently running at 10-8-3, for a total of 23 points, which places them 4th in the Atlantic division. They initially jumped past the Bruins in the standings, but could not sustain that lead, and have since fallen back to the mean. They’ve accumulated quite a few injuries in the 21 games they’ve played so far – with 4 players listed as injured in addition to defenseman Zach Bogosian, who is recovering from off-season hip surgery. D-man Matt Hunwick has a season-ending neck injury. center Johan Larsson is on IR with an upper body injury, but is expected to return tonight. Forward Kyle Okposo is out with a concussion. And Vladimir Sobotka is on IR with a lower body injury.
