Morning Free Association: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Yes, gang, it’s time for the Boston Bruins players to bring holiday cheer and gifts to the children who have to stay in the various hospitals around Boston for the holidays.

Some of the players wore costumes, most wore silly hats. The most popular costume was a Christmas tree worn by Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Backes, and Brandon Carlo. Seems like there should be a “Who wore it better?” poll.

Anyway, it looks like the kids were happy, even when Brad Marchand decided that he was going to beat a child at air hockey.

Tonight, the Bruins take on the Islanders at the TD Garden. Maybe we’ll get to See Johnny Boychuk?

We got snow & frozen rain on tuesday followed by sustained cold. This resulted in crunchy snow with ice underneath that isn’t budging.
I fear going out to clean up the driveway – I haven’t done so because I’ve got a sustained cold.
I’m considering buying one of those heat cannons that warehouses & auto shops use, and just blasting the stuff.

Morning started at -3. Up to 4 degrees so far. My bedroom windows were frozen on the inside this morning.

Hiya.

I keep thinking it’s Friday. Yesterday I also kept thinking it was Friday. I wonder what day I will think it is tomorrow!

It took me all day to watch the game yesterday. Busy, busy. So we’ve now lost to Ottawa, Detroit and LA. Great.

What you don’t know is that there were 284727 previous incarnations of that reply that I tested and rejected over 284727 previous not-Friday mornings!

Hey Pals!!
Notes from last night’s hockey: The Avs – wow. Speed, skill, and size. Blackhawk are not as bad as they seem.
The game is so fast!!!
Jo has flown to Miami…. I only go in July. Going see some hockey Saturday… Local preps.

Yeah, the Avs look like a complete package. Their odds to win the Cup are 13-1. Interesting. Bruins and Caps 10-1 joint favourites …

The Avs are a now team. ‘Hawks could do a Bruinlike turnaround. Maybe better than the Bs as their draft picks will be high. We are lucky that Sweenius was so clever…. Stan Bowman will not fuck up.

I’m quite impressed with how Washington have hit back. It looked like they were at the end of their Cup window when they finally won it and last year seemed to confirm that. Maybe Ovi was still hungover.

I keep expecting the Avs to contend, yet they’ve fallen short in recent seasons. They’ve got so much going for them. They’re a pretty intimidating opponent.
