Today is Friday the 27th which means that Christmas is over, Hanukkah has 3 more days, and Kwanzaa lasts until New Year’s Day. It also means that the NHL is back from it’s mandated 3-day Christmas break. I hope that you had a nice holiday break as well because you’ll need to buckle up for this part of the hockey season because it’s going to become a faster more urgent time for teams and the fans who love them.
Tonight, the Bruins find themselves at Key Bank Arena in Buffalo, taking on the Sabres for only the second time this season. Of course, on Sunday they will play them for the third time in the back half of a home-and-home. Since the team has been away and there’s also been a roster freeze, there’s no additional information on potential injuries to Torey Krug and Charlie McAvoy sustained on Monday night’s game against the Capitals.
A player within the Bruins organization did sustain an injury at the World Juniors Championships: Jakub Lauko.

Reports indicate that it is an MCL injury but not to the nature of it (tear or sprain), with no timeline for a return to the ice. Poor guy is going to miss the rest of the WJC.
So, that’s about that. Tune into the game tonight at 7pm.
