Of course the Bruins players would rise to the occasion and play well in front of their mothers. Brad Marchand would not likely live it down since he says he gets his lippy nature from her. Could you imagine the chirps he’d get from his own mom if he lost that game? Sure, Mama Bergeron would delight in what her son, Patrice, would do because he’s perfect. But Brad’s mom would be relentless.
Anyway, the short of it is that the Bruins won. The slightly longer bit is that they won with goals from players who haven’t scored in a while all with goals that were at even strength, on the power play, and short-handed efforts. The truth is that while Nashville has a ton of talent, they are in disarray, constantly underperforming, and only seemingly dangerous on the power play. Still having had two opportunities of a 5-on-3 advantage, the Preds only scored during one of those in the waning seconds.
Even though the Bruins endured an abundance of soft calls against them, they managed to have two calls go their way: one Preds goal early in the second period that was called a goal on the ice and overturned by Toronto

and when Chris Wagner’s goal was called a good goal after it was shown that he didn’t interfere with Rinne, but rather was pushed into him by a Preds player.

Danton Heinen (7)
A good shift from the Heinen-Coyle-Ritchie line and a sweet set-up from Grzelcyk leads to a Heinen tally.

He only allowed in 2 goals on the penalty kill.
The good news is that the moms, who are all so very fun, will be in the house on Thursday night when the Winnipeg Jets come to town. So another 2 points would be nice!

I don’t want to place too much importance on one game vs a crappy team, but damn that felt good.
And I didn’t walk away with “yeah, they won, but…”, it was just a solid effort that came up successful.
Yay!
Morning all. I heard something about the “Bruins” and something called a “win in regulation time.” I don’t understand these words.
What is this winning thing you speak of???
I’m not sure…..but I think I like it?
The Bruins should do it a few more time just so I can be sure.
Hey!!!!
A solid effort… been waiting for one!!! It’s Nashville, and Nashville is in disarray. Still, the B’s didn’t play down to the competition, for a change. Glad to see Heinen score. Dude has so much promise. Hoping he starts producing regularly. I’d like to see him with Krejci and Bjork, whaddyasay, Bruce??
Roman Josi is a stud. I feel for the guy. Easily in the top five dmen right now, playing on a crappy team.
Flipside is Carlo…. easily among the top five underrated players in the world, right now. Not for long.
Well that was more like it! Can the moms come to every game? I’m thinking of inviting the moms to our next darts match. Might not be such a good idea!
I’m so glad we traded No Goal. Hated him when he was with the Bruins.
Gotta bring the moms along next time they play @ Caps game!
