Morning Free Association: Nothing

It was a quiet day yesterday for the Bruins with not much being posted except for Bruins mom content. That’s fine, not every day is chock full of news or activity. Let the guys spend some quality time with the women who cared and nurtured them.

Tonight, the team is back home playing in front of their moms and about 18,000 fans all over the Garden, taking on the Winnipeg Jets. The game is on NESN at 7pm.

Morning all. Brrrr! Though can’t complain too much. It’s been a pretty mild winter temperature wise. And my bank account likes not spending gobs on propane.

Had a dream I was on a Jurrasic Park adventure ride but at one point we had to make a stop in the city so my boss could sign a form for a client. He was very good at parallel parking the tram.

10 degrees right now. The last few winters 10 degrees would have felt like a heat wave.

It’s 10 degrees here, too. But on the PROPER temperature scale wink

Hi All!
Watched some Caps/ Flyers last night….. I have a question. Is the NHL allowing the bully back in hockey??? I’m starting to see more obstruction but mostly, more bullying. Team losing??? Start a fight, throw a cheap shot. The refs will even it up. Players seem to escape prosecution for blatant penalties. Washington is employing that strategy now. Let’s not forget the St Louis (Black and) Blues! It’s only a successful strategy when the league allows it!!!

Yeah, I’ve been surprised at how much some teams are getting away with.
The Blues won the Cup with physical play so now other teams are trying to copy that. Tom Wilson gets a long leash, Calgary loads up on goons, every team the Bruins played post Thanksgiving took shots at Pasta. I’m not sure when/if the league tries to rein in the bullying.

And the Bruins response to Pasta being targeted is semi-public statements suggesting that they will target other teams’ stars if it keeps up. And with Miller out & Backes on the 9th floor, Chara wading into the fray. I find it a little sad that a 40-year-old has to play enforcer.

So much this! The Bruins need that guy, unfortunately. If the Flyers fall out of contention, Kevin Hayes might fit in well…. salary caps and all aside. Where have all the Neelys gone?? Jersey might be willing to part with Miiles Wood, why if I was GM… grin grin …. well, I guess I couldn’t be worse than Mibury, right? Right?

Why the flying fuck is Neely there, anyway, if not for this one reason???I
Brett Ritchie, opportunity is knockin’. I do appreciate his contribution the other night and his restraint when the B’s were going on a power play. I’m just sayin’… The brass ring is there, dude. Grab it!

Morning all.

I’ve got a bet on the Jets to not make the playoffs. They’re just about in at the moment.
Do me a favour, Bruins!

The Jets are on the rise. I would love for the Bruins to reverse that trend!!
I hope you got good odds.

Going into the season I thought their defence looked a bit shaky and they lacked depth. Don’t know whether that’s being borne out, but you’re right their results have been improving of late.

Their defense definitely took a hit in the off season. Can more experienced D and Sbisa gel in time??? I like the bet… they’re a little offense heavy right now… Maybe they want to send Lowry to the Bruins for Connor Clifton??

Cliffy can throw hands, right? Maybe bring him in to look after Pasta.

Cliffy will throw hands, but is a lil lacking sizewise. I think that’s why Moore has taken that spot. Sometimes it is the size of the dog in the fight that matters (apologies to Ty Domi).
