The Bruins are back in so many ways.
They’re back to fighting!

They’re back to scoring goals!
Special teams ruled once again for the #NHLBruins on Saturday night.

They’re back to winning!
Seriously, the B’s stormed out of the gate on Friday night ready for battle. While they didn’t get on the scoreboard first on Friday night against the Jets, they made sure that they were the last to score , winning that game 2-1. Tuukka was amazing, stopping 37 of 38, even some back-to-back saves when his team in front of him was having trouble keeping the puck away from him. Special teams were indeed that as the Bruins scored on 2 out of 4 power plays and killed 6 penalties. These two teams do not like each other and everything escalated pretty quickly. A brief summary of that and the officials actions:
First Period:
Charlie McAvoy laid a huge, clean hit on Mark Scheifele. Neal Pionk took exception for no other reason than “I like picking on Charlie McAvoy”. Both were sent away 2 minutes for roughing.
Second Period:
Brad Marchand goes down in a clump with Nikolaj Ehlers and quickly gets to business once they get back up. Marchy gets a 2 minute roughing and a 5 minute major for fighting. Ehlers goes for fighting.
Later on in the period, Brandon Carlo has decided he’s had enough of Gabriel Bourque’s shit and throws down with him. Carlo gets 17 minutes in penalties: 2 for instigating, 5 for fighting, and a Misconduct. Bourque received a five minute major.
Then even later on, after another clean hit this time between Karson Kuhlman and Mathieu Perrault after which Perrault appeared shaken up, Luca Sbisa dropped the gloves with Kuhlman. He received an instigator, fighting, and a misconduct. Kuhlman received his first fighting major in the NHL.
Clearly, the refs increased the penalties doled out to get the boys to just stop. They didn’t really listen, though.
The next night, the Bruins just walloped the Minnesota Mild. That 1 goal scored against makes the game seem closer than it was. All you need is this handy word for the B’s performance: QUOTA.
All in all a good weekend for the boys in black and gold. They will have a test on Tuesday when the Canucks visit the Garden.
I was hoping to have a productive day, but the new series of “You” has me totally hooked and now I have to go on the school run soon…
I HAVE learned to play Hey Jude on the keyboard, though (not as impressive as that sounds – I already knew the chords on guitar). Little Bear’s school choir have been learnng it, so we can practise together now
Awww that’s adorable. A book I’ve been reading the dad learned to play drums so he could jam with his daughter who played guitar.
I’ve embarked on a harmonica journey…. guitar next!!!!
Anything you share with your kids is priceless!!!
Oh nice! Harmonica is fun but certainly not easy!
Yeah, I have the feeling my neighbors would not appreciate me trying to learn the harmonica!
Easy for me….. tough on the neighbors!!!
Morning all. Glad to see them come charging back after the break.
I hope all who enjoy hand egg ball enjoyed the hand egg ball game.
(And if you’re a Star Trek nerd, I really really really liked the first episode of Picard.)
I’ve watched even episode of the Original Series of Star Trek multiple times (and all the movies), BUT only seen about two episodes of TNG.
I do love Patrick Stewart though and definitely planning to watch Picard.
The first couple of seasons of TNG were….not very good. But then they got it together.
Yeah I don’t dislike TNG. Think it was probably on at an awkward time when it was first broadcast and I never got round to catching up.
DS9 used to be on on Sunday evenings, and I must have seen most of those.
DS9 was really good.
The Bruins have looked more like what I hoped to see from them these past couple of games.
Much fun.
Hey All!
A glorious weekend! The Bruins looked strong….. Time to shape up the stretch run.
Mom chugs along… No one allowed in to her ward because of a virus going around, but she’s good..
Great to hear your mom’s doing better.
Super weekend of hockey. Watching 10mins of continuous PK was a bit frustrating but they got through it! And along with ALL the powerplay goals… special teams looked to have gone completely off the rails before the break. The rest has done them a world of good!
I’d like to see the lengths of some of Chara’s shifts in that WPG game. He seemed to play eight of the first ten minutes in the second period!
All my best to your mom. She’s a fighter!
Thanks all for the mom wishes… If i have half her strength why…
And thought of you this weekend when I saw this:
Same! That was great.
That “Wow That’s a good call” sign kills me.
I love it!!!!! Reminds me of those Toronto Blue Jays fans that used to mimic the home plate ump’s every signal!!
Good to hear continued positive status on your mom. Virus scary, but it sounds like they’ve got good process in place.
