Last night, the Bruins played the second game of a back-to-back in Chicago. The Blackhawks also were playing on the second night of a double. Which team would be triumphant?
After a period of scoreless hockey, the Blackhawks gained a power play opportunity when David Krejci boarded Adam Boqvist. Alex DeBrincat took only 37 seconds to score.

Before the end of the period, the Bruins would tie it up. After being sat on Saturday night as a motivational benching, Sean Kuraly has been playing some good hockey at left wing on the third line. Last night, he cashed in.

Mr. Big Goals Only scored his 5th of the season, a big one to tie the game.
In the third period, a Blackhawks player, Ryan Carpenter, received a Misconduct for yelling at the refs from the bench for an unnoticed stick to his face during a face-off against Patrice Bergeron. He didn’t seem to have any trouble with the refs not calling him for interfering with Bergy by putting him in a headlock but he took offense to Patrice brushing him with his stick. The refs had enough of him and he was ousted from the game late in the period.
Slightly later the Blackhawks almost had a good goal, were it not for a handpass from Olli Maatta and a refs whistle. It might not have been an actual infraction as the heel of his stick might have touched the puck and a review from the officials didn’t overturn the call. Despite what many might feel, watching a slow motion replay does not actually determine this either.
Here’s the “hand pass”. Puck clearly hits the heel of the stick and slows down. pic.twitter.com/5xfIo3QMKd

Oh my goodness, that is a really unfortunate call.
Drake Caggiula robbed of a goal because officials blew whistle thinking Bruins touched puck on delayed penalty. They did not.
Nobody in the arena heard the whistle. United Center crowd is livid. #Blackhawks

Bruins players heard the whistle and stopped playing. Anyway, the Hawks would go on the power play when Torey Krug went for tripping Maatta.
In overtime, the Bruins killed off the remaining penalty time by icing Chara, Carlo, and Bergy. Then, Charlie McAvoy, the hero we deserve stepped up and said, “I’ve got this,” going down the ice to score his first goal of the year. Then Jake attempted to kill him.

After the game, McAvoy was interviewed by a former NHL goalie from Rhode Island. Papa Bear stayed close to his little bear so that after the segment, he could deliver the best hug. Since I couldn’t determine which angle I liked better, I posted both. You can decide which one you like better.

The B’s have a couple days off from games before they’re playing a weekend Huge Manatee back-to-back against the Yotes at an odd time on Saturday (3pm) and at the Red Wings at a slightly more annoying time (12:30pm) on Sunday.
I love how bent outa shape Hawks fans were about Nogoal suiting up! It was a great call. Debatable whether it was directed with the stick after the hand push… Suck it, ‘hawks fans. You support a couple jerks.
I genuinely don’t think it touched the stick. I don’t see any variation in direction or speed of the puck as it slides underneath the curve of the stick.
Too bad. I feel so sorry for them.
It really took a long time to get Charlie out from under that pile. I was worried he was dead.
I think I like the second angle on the Papa Bear- Baby Bear hug since you see Charlie’s face more and he looked like he needed the hug. Still, it makes me sad for Brando Carlrissian that Papa Bear loves Charlie more.
Brando is a true stud defenseman. So mature. Chahlie needs a lil extra love from Papa Bear.
Yes, he is, in so many ways.
IW likes to describe how he thinks each of the Bruins “My Story” shows will reveal information about the players. For Charlie Coyle it was “I played hockey. I’m from Boston. I played hockey in Minnesota. Now I play hockey here.” Basically every story follows this path. For Carlo he said , “I played hockey. I was tall. I grew handsome. Now, I play hockey.”
Morning all. Stats don’t lie!
How do i love this team? Let me count the ways…. 33,37,63,88,73,46…..i could go on 4ever!
Hey All!
A very good win last night. Hats off to Robin Lehner…. Dude stood on his head. I really like Jeremy Lauzon. Keep that guy! Of the possible acquisitions NBC thought the Bs might be shopping for, i like Josh Anderson. Bruins could use a guy like that.
The only issue with Anderson is that he’s been on IR since December with a shoulder injury. And I dislike him because he did this to my boy and then tried to deny it.
You are so right! The Bruins do need a Lucic, Horton, Neely (not likely) type player. Can Jake or Bjorl fill that role??? Dunno. I would need to make a couple million shekels every year to bear that kind of responsibility. I promise to be a better GM than Milbury.
Think Jake might be getting a call from DoPS- clearly left his skates and the point of contact was high!
Glad Chuckie broke his drought, but were people really complaining? He’s not paid to score goals.
Good call from the refs on the hand pass.

Rrrrecch!!
Ha!! Jake is like a very excitable puppy.
He needs puppy classes.
Now Charlie’s gonna be afraid to score because Jake might beat him up!
Charlie after his next goal:
Don’t worry – it’ll be next season some time
