Morning Free Association: Happy Birthday David Krejci

David Krejci turns 34 years old today. Yesterday, he spoke with Boston media via Zoom about many subjects including resuming play with or without fans, the virtual reunion of the 2011 championship team, and the importance of staying in shape, being that’s the only thing they can control right now.

Poor Krejci looks exhausted; apparently his infant son born in January is keeping odd hours at night.

Perhaps the most intriguing topic that Krejci approached was that of his playing days. At this point, he has no plan to retire after his contract is up in 2021. He doesn’t know where he will be playing but he does want to play beyond the next season. This may make winning a cup this season or next important because the Bruins may not be able to afford a new deal with him.

It’s not the time to plan for the 2021-2022 season, so instead enjoy this replay of last week’s 2011 reunion.

So, we started to watch Miracle last night, as it’s on Disney +. Got about five minutes in and our Internet connection gave up! D’oh. Have to try again tonight.

It’s not as good as I remembered, but worth watching.

Good morning, all!

Am trying out a new (old) laptop. The previous one was one I got from work, who they got from a vendor. The area under the mouse pad has been swelling lately, and I started to become afraid of it, assuming there was a battery under there that was breaking down and eventually going to explode.

Now I’ve resurrected one I had that was very slow, and the L and O keys rarely worked. (I started out this message with “Gd mrning a!”), but I found a discarded USB keyboard and it seems to be working. I’m just waiting to find out why I discarded the keyboard.

I’ve spent the day playing with our new new laptop! Sonia finally has a day off work so I’m able to look at it.

Been messing around with some recording software, laying down multiple guitar tracks and some made-up vocals (“Hello Leah, fish fingers for dinner, tasty!). I think it could be a hit…

Oh, and our old old laptop had about two keys that DID work!

Oh hey guys.

15 days until turn in my final assignment.
25 days until I graduate and receive my BSBA from Salem College
76 days until I turn 31.

Congrats! Is it going to be an online graduation or a socially distanced one?

They are going completely online. Even though my college is small (1000 students, 250 graduates) there is no place that could responsibly host that many people right now.

That’s a bloody shame but I guess they had no other choice.

Sunshine is a fine stress buster! Hope you have a better day.

Three days of rain expected here. The garden needs it!

Hey All!
So begins another day. I usually hear north on Tuesday, but I’m breaking the routine. Trying to push the Tacoma forward. I need it!! I have some slabs of wood I need to get to the mill (what is this, 1820?). They will be the bar top!! The grain is beautiful.
Happy Birthday, David Krejci!! Win soon, Bruins!!

I’m jealous of you making handcrafted furnishings & custom stuff for your house. I’ve got most of the skills for that, but not enough patience.
Then I remember how long it takes and that you’re living out of one room until it’s done, and then I remember – I’m too old for that shit – and suddenly I’m less jealous
