This week, the Bruins featured dog is a very good boy who happens to live with a lifelong Bruin and two-time Stanley Cup Winner. Johnny “Chief” Bucyk played for the Bruins for 21 seasons and worked within the organization for almost another 40. The 85-year-old Bucyk lost his wife in 2012 and while he was still too busy working for the Bruins organization, once he retired he could turn some attention to some canine companionship. His dog is named Charlie. I wonder which Charlie this very good boy is named for.
Chief and Charlie – what a duo.#PlayersPets | #BlackAndGolden

I think we can all agree Charlie is a good Bruins dog who likes to snuggle up on the couch. He’s not afraid of using the retired number pillow for comfort either.
JoAnn will have to do the Zoom thing. She’s my techie!
Mac has been up and down…. Two up days in a row, now.
Mac is still fighting!
Guys, I love Golaie Bob. I have no idea what it is about him, but I love him.

Morning all. GH, the masks are in Vermont! They took a temporary trip to SatanParents because SatanMom thought they were masks she ordered. SatanDad should be dropping them off today. Thank you!
You’re welcome! Aw, I would’ve made some for SatanParents if I would have thought about it. I mean, I am the mask supplier to the SatanFamily. Did you see your brother’s masks?
I haven’t seen my brother’s masks because any and all information about my brother I get through you!
If you have Hello Kitty fabric SatanMom would be all over that one!
Aw, man, I wish I did. I searched for it but all the results were for fleece.
I thought you guys chatted every day? Ben’s masks glow in the dark and have sugar skulls on them.
Oh cool! Yeah, we do chat but mostly it’s either hockey stuff or dumb youtube stuff. We forget about the important stuff like what’s going on in our lives!
Hey folks.
I didn’t realise Chief had retired! I remember him being on Behind the B a couple of years back as equipment manager.
Woke up this morning with a bit of a cough, which was worrying! Seems to have fine away now, though. I choked quite badly last night on some water, so hopefully just the remnants of that.
Lovely sunny day here. The girls are both working so I’ve got some relax time!
Little Bear finally got a job, eh? About time she contribute some income!
Fingers crossed cough stays gone!
Just school work for the time being.
One of yesterday’s assignments was to write a song. I’ve got some basic home recording equipment as well as several musical instruments, so I was acting as producer.
She was writing as she was going along and drew a blank on her third verse, threw a massive strop when I refused to do it for her (“I’ll help develop your ideas but you’ve got to come up with them yourself”) and stormed off. Very rock n roll!!
“I want a big bowl of M&Ms in my dressing room, BUT NO GREEN ONES!!!”
Hahahaha! Can’t wait for the London Bear Clan Behind the Music documentary!
Directed and produced by Anonymous!
That kid has a future!!!
A week or two back, I had a few morning coughs. And I got a little paranoid – “Does I gots the ‘rona?”
I did not have the ‘rona. That paranoia is one of the fun little side benefits of the pandemic.
I did get myself a pulse oximeter shortly before the lockdown. They’re like $25 on Amazon – one sticks a finger in it for 15 seconds and it comes back with pulse and an inferred blood O2 level. 90-100 is good, below 85 is bad, talk to a doctor. I check every other day or if I’m feeling off (I already have some regular home health monitoring I perform, so I added it to the mix). If you don’t have one, next time you’re at the chemist’s, consider picking one up. It’s a nice bit of peace of mind.
One good thing about lockdown is I’ve noticed all the little aches and pains have had a chance to heal up.
Very true. People will still get coughs and sniffles – although less of them now there’s no social interaction, I suppose.
That bit of kit sounds interesting.
Allergies are the worst right now because of coughing and sniffling and all that.
Yeah, Chief quietly retired after the 2015-2016 season if I remember correctly. He used to travel with the team since he was doing the hotel arrangements and per diem payouts. After a while, that gets to be a bit much for old bones. BUt he’s still around teh team a bunch, so that’s great. I have the feeling he’s never not welcome within the organizations environs.
Oh, absolutely. The travelling alone would wipe me out – I find it really tiring.
Good Morning!!
The Chief!! The epitome of a Bruin!!
I would like to see people again, someday.
We need to get you on the Zoom chats!
Yes indeed!
Definitely!
