Morning Free Association: Um, uh…

Guys, there really isn’t that much hockey news to talk about right now. In light of recent events around the country, it seems really unimportant to talk about hockey. But, I also know that we all need some diversion from the pandemic, from the injustices of our country, from the violence that is being stoked by some police and other actors to make those who protest peacefully look bad, and from the giant orange turd that currently is stinking up the White House. So, I will try.

Last night NESN debuted their special on Zdeno Chara’s 1000 games with the Bruins, a mark that he reached much earlier in the current season. I’m sure it will be repeated many times this week and in those that are to come. For those interested, this week will be replays of Cam Neely’s important games, or something like that. Honestly, I was too busy rubbing Boomer’s belly to really pay attention.

Boomer is still settling in. He seems to be enjoying his short walks and he briefly got see his friend Mocha yesterday. Did I tell you he loves belly rubs? He does. I’m sure that IW will fill you in more on the Boomster in the comments.

For those of you who like TV and cooking, I discovered a new-to-me You Tube channel called Binging with Babish. It involves an obviously culinary-trained host who is also a filmmaker make a bunch of dishes inspired by those on television shows. I want to make these stupidly huge nachos.

Tomorrow, a return to normal programming, I think.

I plan on watching this on Thursday as well as making a way too long overdue donation to Black Girl Hockey Club.

Morning all. My back does not like moving. Still have some boxes to unpack but mostly done. Babish is a fun one. His crossover with YSAC is good. Had a dream a while ago where he was trying to lead a bunch of us away from murderous monster but accidentally led us into a trap.

Hi folks, hope you’re doing well.

It makes me sad to see what’s going on over there atm, but there does seem to be a feeling a maybe this time it will lead to some sort of change. People and organisations who wouldn’t normally weigh in on such issues are speaking out. Here’s hoping.

On a lighter note- professional sport resumes today in Britain! Just horseracing and snooker to start with, behind closed doors, but it is a start.

Nice run round the common this morning. I actually hate running, but at least I feel like I’ve done something today! I was wondering how our common compares with Boston Common – the one with the ducks. Ours is exactly half the size! 10 hectares compared with Boston’s 20. There ya go.

Stay safe guys!

That’s pretty neat about the city commons. It makes sense that the younger city would have the more generous common.

Also duck boats (tho technically I think that’s in the “gardens” not the “common”)

Good Morning!
Chara is the man! I watched a lot of the special. He’s a wonderful person. I
It’s still hard to imagine hockey resuming.
The zoom! We had fun until zoomus interruptus…. Had to go out in the rain where we could social distance properly. Glad we got to see Boomer! We’ll be better at it next time…. grin

It was great to see you and get a mini-tour of Monroville!

I hope they put the Chara programme on YouTube. I’d like to see it.

I don’t think it was a mini-tour of the town, I think it was the whole tour! lol
