Morning Free Association: Fingers Pressed

Days away from the NHL entering Phase 3 of it’s reopening plan, a step that involves training camps full of skaters, players around the NHL are enjoying the rest of their time off by doing things that they probably shouldn’t do. Like going to bars and going to the beach without their masks.

Several of the younger Bruins congregated on Cape Cod to celebrate the 4th of July. And none of them were wearing masks.

If these dummies test positive in the next two weeks…

As my German friends say, fingers pressed that they don’t.

Anyway, some Bruins weren’t doing dumb things this weekend:

Eleven years? How old are they? Anyway, mazel tov!

Other news:

Edmonton is going to host the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Final according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

The NHL and the NHLPA are almost finished with the CBA details and the a Memo of Understanding that will allow teams to move ahead with training camps and eventually resuming play.

One thing that won’t be required in the bubbles: suits. Players will have no restrictions on clothing. This might be the most interesting part of the whole thing. I wonder what Pasta will put together.

Morning all. Dreams you now have in 2020: Had a dream the other night I was in the local hardware store and realized I forgot my mask.

Did that at the drive thru in the donut shop – I’m at the pick-up window and realize my mask is on another seat, barely out of reach. Whipped my hat off my head and used it as a mask before I opened my mouth.

Hi Pals!
Let’s hope everyone stays healthy!! Seeing the Bruins raise the Cup in Edmonton….. I’m cool with that. It’s weird to have training camp without player movement (trades, waivers, assignments).
Thank you, GH, for information that had me scratching my head re the new CBA, etc. And,hey!!!!! We talked actual hockey!!
I worked all weekend while hearing the joy of people who were down in the river. Grrrrr. Really feeling the pressure to get the house done and my carpenter has been nursing his wife along (surgery) for two months now. He’s coming back to work Thursday. We need Jo’s house to sell!! Need that do, re, mi!! Ah well, we’ll get there.
Oh, moose sighting just down the street Saturday…… Yup, we missed it.

Hi folks,

hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend, assuming you got one.

I didn’t realised they were forced to wear suits to the games! Thought they were all just natty chappies.

SCF in Edmonton?!?! What time am I going to have to stay up until to watch that?! I’m going to struggle to convince enough people to talk to me about tax returns so I can drain their energy! lol

Had a walk through the village this morning. Looks like none of the pubs opened on Saturday, as they were allowed to by law. They’d rather wait until they’re happy they can reopen safely. I can get behind that. Personally I’m not planning to do any unnecessary spending until the work situation becomes clearer.

Since NBC has the television rights, I think they will have daytime games on the weekend. Just might work out for you.

Ha!! Nothing says exciting Saturday night like talking about taxes! Though complaining about taxes is very American so it was an appropriate conversation for 4th of July!
