Morning Free Association: Monday, Again

Yesterday I started writing a post for today, compiling the various bits of information that I have on the upcoming season. I started the post sometime after Boomer and I returned from our walk as I watched BoJack Horseman, a series which I am finally ready to watch. Anyway, IW came upstairs and distracted me with talk of Mexican food for dinner.

It was yummy.

After eating that, finishing the last of my Meyer Lemon tarts, and watching the first installment of Don’t Fuck With Cats, it was 10pm. My brain all full of mush at that point, the only thing I could do was take a shower and shelve that article for tomorrow.

The good thing is that I have resolved to walk every street in our small city with Boomer starting in the spring. I plan to document on a blog with pictures. Boomer is looking forward to it.

As for today, just relax and we’ll talk about what we want. We always do anyway.

I have just discovered how terrifyingly dark it is in a windowless room in a basement once the power goes out.
“Just how many sharp/heavy things are there between me and the staircase?”
Ack!

Jo has gone for another test today. No result from the first. WTF? It should be in today ( the first test.) She had another person who was an idiot at her shop. This person is even less connected to Jo, but she wants to be sure.
She went to a different test site this time. The first was a corporate health place so they probably took all weekend off.
So, i stay in quarantine.

Morning all. If all goes to plan I’ll be cutting back at the coffee shop and just working every other Saturday. Will probably have to tighten the purse strings a bit but it would also be nice to not be mentally and physically tired 99.9% of the time.

Is this your plan or theirs? Aren’t they going to be busy with ski season just around the corner?

You work six days, right? I can’t imagine that. We recently switched from 9 days in 14 to five days a week and that’s noticeable.

My plan. Been thinking about cutting back for a while and finally decided to bite the bullet and put in the request.

Yeah, at a certain point the body can’t keep up. Though with having the extra time maybe I’ll finally read that dusty copy of Gone Girl! lol

Free time is priceless! Just don’t buy a house. You will never have free time again!

Hi folks!
Worked on the house all weekend. I need to do some Tom Sawyer shit. Cobvince other people that working on my house is fun so they are begging to help. The river ran for four days straight. I could hear it, tormenting me.

Morning all,

I have resolved to walk every street in our small city with Boomer starting in the spring. I plan to document on a blog with pictures.

This is a great idea. I’ve found during the lockdowns it’s important to have things to look forward to. For me this mostly took the form of buying things online – researching exactly what I wanted, finding it and then waiting for the delivery. Gave some meaning to the days.

I have now bought pretty much everything I wanted, to the annoyance of my family who are very much traditional Christmas – “you must have a present” people.
“What do you want this year?” “Nothing, I’ve got everything!”

So our family friend – the older lady I do the grocery shopping for – slipped over in the woods at the weekend and broke her ankle. She’ll be in a boot for six weeks, the poor thing. Still, she usually goes to visit family in Scotland or Sweden at Christmas, but hadn’t planned a trip this year, obviously. So at least she didn’t have to cancel that.

I often shop for something, but don’t buy. Over the next few days countless examples of my search come up in ads. It stretches out the buying process. Not that i ever buy anything but building materials these days.

Yeah, those targeted ads can be really annoying – although I did get some good ones after the time I ordered a crate of beer online!

Oh ouch! Hope your neighbor heals up quick!

Speaking of deliveries, I was so lazy on Friday I didn’t realize I had a package on my porch until I left for work Saturday morning. lol (And one of the upstairs neighbors must have been lazy as well because there was a package for him on the porch too.)

This year, everything I buy for Xmas is probably gonna be on-line. Usually I like to do a few dry-runs — I go to a few stores, often with a present in mind but sometimes not, and just look at as much of the merch as I can, picturing them as gifts until I find inspiration (or just the right thing).
Not so this season. I don’t dally when I go to stores, and I try to avoid shopping as much as possible, especially during COVID peaks.
So Amazon.com it is.
