Game Day Thread: Bruins @ Islanders

Hey! That's Brad, on the TV!
The Bruins are on the road, visiting the New York Islanders at the Coliseum.

The Bruins are now at 1-0-1, putting them 4th in the Atlantic East, a whopping 1 point ahead of the Isles.

Last time in Bruins Hockey..

The Bruins were in Jersey, battling their brand new and suddenly hated rival, the New Jersey Devils.

Yes, the Devils are now in the same Division as the Bruins, and have a 1-ROW lead on the B’s in the standings.

The Trio of Miles Wood, Jack Hughes & Ty Smith combined to draw first points in the first. Newly anointed team captain, St. Patrice of Bergeron tied up the game on a short-handed shift, assisted by points leader Brad Marchand. This was not long after Ondrej Kase took a stick to the face and left the game, forcing coach Bruce Cassidy to break out the lineup blender.
They looked spent in OT, and lost after Devils rookie 1st line RW, Yegor Sharangovich decided to score his first point in the NHL. The dude genuinely appears to be pretty good, so don’t blame Jaro Halak too much.

What will be the lines today?

David Pastrnak is still out after off-season surgery, but Marchand managed to make the roster on Thursday. Anders Bjork skated in the RW spot on that line.

Onrej Kase is expected to miss the game, so Jack Studnicka should be back in the lineup. It is unclear to me which lines Bjork & Studnicka will end up on. Haggs was suggesting DeBrusk would swap over to his off-side and Nick Ritchie would move up, but even though I wouldn’t put it past Butch to do that, it is such an abomination that I refuse to copy it.

Defense appears stable.

Tuukka will be in goal tis evening.
