Morning Free Association: Dodged a Bullet

I might have overblown a particular situation. Can you blame me? For four years until yesterday, everything seemed like a dumpster fire. It was only yesterday when the sun shone down on a spot in the capital of our nation that I began to believe that we might be okay.

Oh yeah, the overblown thing? Matt Grzelcyk is not injured. He’s a little dinged up but he describes himself as nearly 100%. Which means he probably just hit his funny bone (which is never funny) and it took a while for it to feel better. So, that’s the good news.

The bad news is that Ondrej Kase is still on IR and Bruce Cassidy says he has no timeline to return.

Of course, this has brought about a great couple of tweets about David Krejci’s right wing.

This one takes the cake. So accurate.

Was asked if I’m doing anything about getting a shot……. Like, what? I guess I’ll know when it’s my time?

We got a note from our Dr’s office saying they will be providing shots – March for people in the balcony seats (65yr+ or 2 or more comorbidities), April for general admission. This is in line with what the Governor has been planning. I’m scheduling mine once they are ready for me. Also want to get a shingles vaccination.

Good Morning!
Thanks for the good news! My spirit feels truly lifted today! We have a way to go, but there’s a ray of hope.
Reporting from behind the bar at Jo and Joe’s (should it be Jo’s and Joe’s?, I don’t know!). I wish we could get the heat on in here. This ain’t nowhere to watch tonight’s game!. I have the propane construction heater going, but it’s 17° F here, insulation is a week away, and It’s friggin’ freezing in here, Mr Bigglesworth

Hoping to be in Litchfield for puck drop. Jo, make sure the beer is cold!!!

Whoa that’s nippy! You talking indoors? The beers won’t take much chilling at Jo & Joes!

Ooof. When I lived in New Hampshire, our heater failed overnight on an 11° F day. I ran out to the hardware store and got an electric space heater and a mini charcoal grill, pointed the heater at the pipes and the grill in front of what passed for a fireplace (this latter part was actually a BAD idea – carbon-monoxide danger and all). I managed to keep the indoor temp at ~32° F.
I then spent all day on the phone with the landlord and his heating contractor. They had to get a whole new unit installed, and it didn’t even arrive until dusk. A miserable day, spent wearing a winter coat indoors.

That has been the average work day here. I do have the cottage next door to sleep/ take a break in. 65° over there.

Morning all,

That’s good news about Griz. It looked an awkward fall on his arm.

Not so good for Kase. I thought I saw him take a high stick to the face but my coverage was the MSG feed and the first they mentioned it was when they noticed he wasn’t on the bench about 20mins later.

Do you get the feeling that someday you will be saying “Ondre Kase oh yeah, wasn’t he a Bruin for a few minutes? He’s the guy that never scored, right?”

Haha! Hope you got to see the pre edit version… ” wasn’t he a Brain…”
