Morning Free Association: Coming Soon…Pasta?

David Pastrnak has been skating for the better part of two weeks in a red no contact jersey. After having surgery to repair a torn labrum and an arthroscopy of the same hip joint on September 16, Pasta’s recovery was expected to take 5 months.

Yesterday, his jersey color changed from red to white, allowing him to take contact for the first time since playing in the bubble over the summer.

Though he has joined practice in a normal capacity, Bruce Cassidy says that he will not play tonight nor on Thursday. He may start his season against the Capitals in Washington on Saturday, you know, when the B’s face their former longtime captain, Zdeno Chara. And of course, he will take his usual spot aside the new captain on his right side.

Pasta also spoke with the media about how he is feeling. He acknowledged that he feels much better, that his skating now involves no pain. Pasta is a hockey player, so he will not forgive himself for the pain he felt and how it affected his performance in the bubble.

Now that the Bruins have figured out how to score in all situations (even strength (finally), power play, short handed), imagine how much more fun it will be with Pasta coming back.

Yay! It will be great to have Pasta back.

Don;t think I’m going to see tonight’s game. It’s a blackout which means the only option is to watch it live on a dodgy stream, and I didn;ty sleep well last night. I don’t work Wednesdays but it’s my errand day which works out being more busy than if I was at work!

I am debating – the Pride also have a game tonight, and they only play 5 games this season. I’ll probably watch the Bs for 1st period then switch over to twitch for NWHL puck drop.

Good Morning!
Yay! Pasta’s return will be huge! I wouldn’t mind if he skipped the Caps….. dirty bastards! There’s no need to rush him back. I can watch the game tonight! Woo hoo!

Back to the remote site today (soon). Snow coming. Got to get out before it gets silly over there.

BTW, Big Z averaging 20 mins per game over the first 6 games. 1 assist, 10 shots, 4 penalty minutes, and 4 blocked shots…. and a plus 4. Sounds about right.

I’m surprised he didn’t get an “A”, although I guess you don’t need a letter on your jersey to contribute leadership.

I agree about not rushing Pasta back. Krejci always seemed to half-ass dealing with his lower-body medical issues, and it made him a less effective player. Pasta is young enough that this stuff can pretty much heal up completely, so he should let it, and we can all enjoy watching him play at his best, for longer.
