The Bruins continue on the road, returning to play the Philadelphia Flyers. on NESN
Last time in Bruins Hockey…
The Bruins were on the road, battling their hated rival, the Filadelphia Phlyers.
David Pastrnak scored a hat trick. Pasta good.
Pastrnak opened the game by scoring right of the initial face off at 12 seconds into the game, beclowning Shane Gostiberre and bouncing a cross-crease shot off Ivan Provorov for the score.
The Bruins started the game looking strong, but were unable to get most of their shots through to the net. The Flyers would finish the period strong and even up the shot count.
The 2nd period was not the Bruins’ friend, being dominated by the other guys, and Kevin Hayes would score for the bad guys. The Flyers would score twice more in the first half of the 3rd period, going up by a score of 3-1.
However, the Bruins were not out of it. Late in the 3rd, the Flyers would get sent to the box, on 3 occasions, giving David Pastrnak the opportunity to score 2 power play goals, tying up the game.
The 3rd Flyers penalty, a particularly stupid & obvious interference by Scott Laughton would extend into the OT. Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak & Krejci would only need 31 seconds to win the game.
Bruins good. Flyers bad.
The Bruins are now at 7-1-2, putting them 1st in the MassMutual East division, with only games played separating them from the Flyers.
What will be the lines today?
The lines are the same as the past couple of games.
Forward Ondrej Kase, Jake DeBrusk, and Jack Studnicka are still on IR. Craig Smith has been playing on the Krejci line, with some success. Anton Blidh is up from the taxi squad.
On the defense, lefty Matt Grzelcyk has been missing some playing time, bringing in Connor Clifton in his stead. Cliffy is expected to be in the lineup again today. Meanwhile, John Moore is back on the roster after having spent time on IR, bringing the defensive group up to 8 players.
DeBrusk and Grzelcyk were both seen skating at the teams training facility this week.
Tuukka Rask will be in net.

That giveaway – ewww.
I have no idea what’s going on.
Nor do they.
5 guys in the boxes – it’s looking like a Boston/Philly game
I see they’ve taken pity on Carter Hart
Yep. I figured they’d see Elliot eventually.
Evening. Struggled to find a stream for this blackout game but got one now.
14 seconds in, and I’m not as impressed as I was last game.
Game 4 against Philly – can the Bruins hang on for a 4th win?
BE THERE OR RISK BEING NOT ENTERTAINED!
Will they go two goals down??
