There really wasn’t a lot of stuff going on with the Bruins yesterday. Yesterday was mostly just practice and updates.
Matt Grzelcyk and Jakub Zboril are likely out for Thursday night’s game against the Devils.
Bruce Cassidy said that Par Lindholm’s return to Sweden was all about family, that being away from his partner and their baby was tough to bear being only a taxi squad guy. This is totally understandable.
Bruce Cassidy said part of the reason Par Lindholm left is because he had a baby last year and it was tough for him to be away from his family and be motivated to practice knowing he was going to be a spare guy.

And the game that was supposed to happen on Monday is now happening in March, which is quickly turning into a busy month.
Our game against New Jersey, originally scheduled for Feb. 15, is now scheduled for Sunday, March 7 at 5 p.m. ET. https://t.co/FKIB0PBtaz

Finally, a non-Bruins thing but at least related: Gritty. will be at Lake Tahoe for the game on Sunday afternoon. This improved my attitude towards the game a great deal and now I kind of want to watch it.
We deserve this. I leave Friday.

There was a Philly game already schedule for March 7th. Now the Bruins’ calendar has two games vs two different teams listed at the same time (with both listed as ‘exhibition’). This is getting silly.
I presume the Philly game will be pushed out (I can’t imagine anything less practical that a hockey double-header or less pandemic safe than having more than 2 teams in the same arena/locker rooms), but the Bruins are already playing a game every 2nd night in March.
By March Covid will magically disappear and all the teams can play.
Well, the COVID numbers are getting better.
My city has a site that is updated 3x per week and the numbers have gotten much much better, even if we’re still in the “extreme risk” category. (like 3 cases per 1000 people down from 10 cases per 1000)
I actually heard someone on the news the other day suggest that things might be getting better due to the warmer weather – girl, it’s the coldest part of the year! This week is the coldest it’s been in the south for 50 years! (She was actually a medical doctor, too!)
I’m surprised that no one has clued in to the fact that we’ve stopped having superspreader events (campaign rallies, post-election celebrations, holiday get-togethers, etc.) or the possibility that there is localized herd immunity in parts of the maskless rube communities, and that we’re returning to the steady state levels of responsible behavior.
You’re on to something there! I’m really missing people, but we all need to stick it out!
Morning folks.
Looking forward to the Tahoe game. Will be interesting to see the scenery. I like the winter classic but it seems a bit devoid of atmosphere with no fans near the glass (though I expect it’s a bit different if you’re actually IN the crowd…). I’m used to no fans near the glass now, though!
I love the idea of the outdoor game and the atmosphere can get quite festive, but it’s too far away from the action . One winds up watching on the big screen. There are a few pond hockey tournaments that are outdoors, of course, and feature multiple rinks with multiple games happening. I don’t think it’s possible to replicate that feeling with an NHL game and fans.
A Lake Tahoe golf course seems like a particularly weird venue. No fans, not a particular hotbed of ice hockey activity. No pre-existing infrastructure.
I mean, if you’re gonna have an unattended outdoor game due to COVID, I guess it doesn’t matter where it is. But I’m not sure I see the point.
Spending money, for no fans, on a different day than expected, and sending the teams to about as far away as they can get without leaving the lower 48?
Good Morning!
Watched a little of the Rags – Devils last night. The Devils are young…. but very fast and a pain in the ass to play against! Bruins will be rested, at least.
So, the big house ran out of oil yesterday. I drained as much water out of the plumbing as I could. Still haven’t heard from the bank. Okay.
No more heating oil? Well, there’s only one thing you can do now…
