Game Day Thread: Bruins @ Rangers

The Bruins are on the road, playing the New York Rangers, again. And after the last couple of games, I’m sure we’re all really excited.

Last time in Bruins Hockey…

A depleted Bruins team were at Madison Square Garden, battling the Rangers. The Rangers were missing Panarin, Chytil and Kakko, so one would think that the roster holes would cancel each other out, but not really. The Bs were outplayed somewhat in the first, started to get some offense going in the 2nd, scoring a goal and evening the shot count, and then collapsing late in the game, giving up 4 goals within a 5 minute stretch of play.

The Bruins are now at 11-5-2, slipping to 2nd in the MassMutual East division, 2 points behind the Caps, holding the games-played tiebreaker vs the Isles and 2nd to the Flyers in points percentage.

What will be the lines today?
The lines may be a little confusing.

Forward Ondrej Kase is still on IR.
David Krejci is out with a lower body injury (“day to day”). Matt Grzelcyk (LBI) has been improving, but will be out.
Jakub Zboril returned for Thursday, and is likely tonight. Jeremy Lauzon had surgery on a hand injury and is out for an extended period of time.
Kevan Miller is out with knee issues. Bruce Cassidy was unhappy with John Moore, so Steve Kampfer is in. Jarred Tinordi was picked up off waivers from Nashville, but is not available to play yet.

Greg McKegg and Karson Kuhlman will get some time on the ice today, at the expense of Anders Bjork and Chris Wagner.

Tuukka will be in net.

Tonight the Bruins will face the New York Rangers. This will be the fourth time this season the two teams have faced off, with the Bruins struggling against them, beating them twice, and then getting curb-stomped on Friday.
They have a few injuries right now, with Phil Chitl, Jake Trouba and Kappo Kakko out and Artemi Panarin out due to personal issues.
The Rangers have a lousy record of 7-8-3 (17 points), putting them in 7th place in the division.
