The Bruins are on the road, visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2nd night in a row, and broadcast on NESN.
Last time in Bruins Hockey…
Bruins were playing the Penguins, at the PPG Paints arena.
They lost by an awkward 1-4, after winning 57% of faceoffs, putting 43 shots on net, and making the lion’s share of hits.
The Bruins are now at 14-8-4, which still has them at 4th in the MassMutual East division by victory points, 10 points behind the surprisingly tough Isles and 8 points behind the surging Caps, and also 4rd in the division with a points percentage of .615.
What will be the lines today?
The lines are still in motion.
Brandon Carlo is still out with concussion-like symptoms.
Forward Ondrej Kaše, and defensemen Jeremy Lauzon are still on IR. Kaše and Kevan Miller are both skating on their own. Miller is travelling with the team, but not scheduled to play tonight. On defense, Jarred Tinordi and Steve Kampfer are in, Urho Vaakanainen is out.
Zach Senyshyn was injured after Thursday night’s game. Senyshyn is out, on a week-to-week basis. Jake DeBrusk had been back after having been a healthy scratch, but he was out in the COVID protocol. He is reportedly back in, having experienced a false positive COVID test like Charlie Coyle had experienced last week. Karson Kuhlman and Greg McKegg are up from Providence, as is goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Anton Blidh is back in Providence. Oskar Steen is also up from Providence, and should be replacing Anders Bjork in the lineup.
Joe Haggarty reports that Jack Studnicka and Chris Wagner are out, Kuhlman is in, but reports from practice to not jive with this lineup. I’m going to trust that he is correct, and that warmups were not indicative of lineup. While Trent Frederic had been playing as Sean Kuraly’s centerman two games ago, it appears that Kuraly will be centering with Frederic as left wing.
Tuukka Rask (back ailment) is still out (but travelling with the team) so Dan Vladar is in goal, with Jaro Halak, backing him up.

Tonight’s opponents are the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are ahead of the Bruins in the standings as ranked by victory points, and as ranked by points percentage, and are now 6 games deep into a win streak, after beating the Bruins on Monday night.
Players out of the lineup due to injury are Mark Friedman, on IR with an upper body injury, and Jason Zucker is out with lower body injury. Jared McCann and John Marino (both with recent upper body injuries) have been out, and are game-time decisions, Evan Rodrigues and Chad Ruhwedel were in the lineup for them yesterday.
