Late yesterday, the Boston Bruins announced that they would hold practice at 7pm Wednesday (last night).
UPDATE: The #NHLBruins will return to the ice this evening with a 7 p.m. practice.

Craig Smith and the two Czech Davids, Krejci and Pastrnak, all cleared Covid protocol with at least one negative test. Sean Kuraly and Jake DeBrusk remain on the Covid list.
David Krejci, David Pastrnak, and Craig Smith removed from COVID list. Kuraly, DeBrusk still on it.

They (Krejci, Smith, Pasta) should be able to practice and play in tonight’s game, if it is indeed still on. There is no word that it isn’t being played so
Brandon Carlo skated with the group in a red non-contact sweater. He will obviously not be in tonight, however he is nearing a return.

Tuukka Rask, Jarred Tinordi, Zach Senyshyn, and Trent Frederic will participate in tomorrow’s AM skate. They could all play tomorrow.
Jeremy Lauzon and Brandon Carlo will not be available.

If Tuukka feels good during the morning skate, he could start his first game since March 7th.
Yesterday, I left Ondrej Kase off the injury list. It was less to do with his status as it was what a return would mean to the team. Bruce Cassidy basically said that he doesn’t expect Kase back but if he does return, and he is able to contribute, it will be gravy. This is not an optimistic prognosis.
Bruce Cassidy looking at anything Ondrej Kase gives them as a bonus, basically. In case you’re wondering where he’s at with his recovery.

Kase is just 25 years old with a severe concussion history prior to being dealt to the Bruins last trade deadline. Being with the team, he has had two concussions. While every NHL team for several years now has been cagey about head injuries, preferring the nebulous “UBI” over “concussion”, it’s fairly obvious what that designation means on an injury report: that player will be out for at least a week and in some cases, for an indeterminate amount of time. As for Kase, one has to wonder how much more time he has left for a career considering he’s been sidelined so much with concussion and the after effects. After this season, he will be an RFA for the last time. Do the Bruins qualify him? Do they let him go to become a UFA? Or will Kase decide it’s time to hang them up?
Hello!
I have not much to say. I basically say all I need about hockey in the post. But I am torn about being excited that the B’s are celebrating being out if self-quarantine by playing a game and having little hope because the team they play against is a rested Isles team who didn’t take a mandatory “no conditioning break”.
I’m also a bit disappointed that the — now Covid-exposed — Bruins are going to be practicing at Warrior for the remainder of this week when the facility is also hosting a slate of NWHL games after they’d previously been postponed due to covid.
It’s all just a clusterfuck.
If Tinordi & Frederic are ready to go, then we actually can put a team on the ice. No reason to think that they’ll match up any better against the Isles than this season’s previous lineups, but at least it should be competent hockey & not a rout. Would be interested in seeing how Kuraly/Studnicka/Senyshyn would match up, but obviously Kuraly is out & Senyshyn is just recovering.
Morning all. Many thanks to Nugget for generously giving me about a foot-wide section of bed last night. That was very nice of her.
Very generous.
Boomer always tries to take my side of the bed when he goes upstairs. Like he wants to sleep with mummy and daddy but mummy can sleep somewhere else.
And the argument that since I paid for the bed I should be able to have a little bit more of it falls on deaf ears.
Dogs have masters, cats have staff
Ooh, I joined the anonymous ranks
And Nugget certainly has complaints about her staff. Mainly “OH MY GOD CAN YOU HURRY UP AND GET THE FOOD IN THE DISH NOW PLEASE WHY IS THIS TAKING LONGER THAN 10 SECONDS?!?”
Good Morning!
Game on(most likely)¡¡¡¡¡ Woo hoo! I guess the whole roster is pretty much a game time decision…… and it’s the Isles. I’m going to have Jo tape my eyelids open and tie me to my chair in front of the tele. True terror! My hope is that the Isles will be overconfident if the Bruins see them in the playoffs.
Just finished watching the Maltese Falcon. The end of an all night Peter Lorre/ Sidney Greentstreet marathon the i saw too much of.
It is to be hoped! Regular season form quite often doesn’t stand up in the playoffs.
I read the Maltese Falcon a few years ago. Very good. Never seen a film version.
I’ve seen the movie but never read the book. Maybe I should put it in the “maybe I’ll get around to it” pile with Gone Girl!
Actually rooting for the Caps, so the Bs might not have to deal with the fishsticks in the postseason.
I’ve never read the Maltese Falcon, but I love the movie. It’s one of my favorites.
Ah good point – possible playoff permutations (ooh alliteration!) hadn’t entered my mind yet.
Jack keeps going on about how other results affect the Bs position in the standings. I know they’re on the bubble but it’s a bit early to think like that surely? Their fate is in their own hands!
I’m certainly not at the point where I’m fretting about other teams results, however, we are at the halfway point of the shortened season, so that’s about when people start caring about the standings.
For me, I just use the Bruins relative standings-points percentage as a barometer for how they’re doing, and they feel like a bubble team with upside but poor odds to make it to the final, and a real chance to stumble into mediocrity.
Oooo, I haven’t watched the Maltese Falcon in a long time. I’ll have to put that on the list for a re-watch.
It has it’s flaws, but i love it.
