The Bruins continue their home stand, in front of a limited live studio audience, hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins, to be displayed on NESN and in other markets on ESPN+, SportsNet, AT&T Sports-Pittsburgh
Last time in Bruins Hockey…
The Bruins hosted the New Jersey Devils.
They won more faceoffs, and made more shots, so naturally, they lost…
wait, NO! THEY WON! (In a shootout, but it works!) They beat the devils!
The Bruins are now at 18-9-5 which still has them at 4th in the MassMutual East division by victory points, 9 points behind the Caps, and 7 behind the Isles and… wait for it… the Penguins.
They are also 4th in the division with a points percentage of .641.
What will be the lines today?
The lines are getting back to normal.
On the COVID protocol front, only Jake DeBrusk has not been cleared to play. Sean Kuraly is skating but is not yet in the lineup.
The Injury Report is calming down. Ondrej Kaše is skating, and Kevan Miller is practicing with Tinordi & Kampfer. John Moore had hip surgery last Monday and will be out all summer. All are out tonight.
Tuukka Rask remains out. Jaroslav Halak got the start on Tuesday, so he will back up Dan Vladař, (Yeah, I’m putting the trill accent back) who will be between the pipes tonight.

Tonight’s opponents are the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are ahead of the Bruins in the standings as ranked both by victory points, by points percentage, and are now 4 games deep into a win streak.
Players out of the lineup due to injury are Evgeni Malkin, with a lower body injury since the Bruins faced them on March 16th, Mark Friedman, on IR with an upper body injury, Teddy Blueger, Kasperi Kapanen and Brandon Tanev. Tanev is a game time decision. Casey DeSmith is supposed to be in net – though I was told that once before, and kept referring to it even though it was definitely Jarry that time.
