Game Day Thread; Penguins 2 Bruins, again…

Bruins vs Penguins

The Bruins are still at home, once again hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins, to bb broadcast on NESN+, NHL Network, SportsNet-360, and AT&T Sports-Pittsburgh

Last time in Bruins Hockey…

The Bruins hosted the Penguins, and were outmatched.
They won more faceoffs, and made more shots, more hits, so naturally, they lost…
Dan Vladar was good, but so was Casey DeSmith.

Adding injury to insult, Brandon Carlo left the game due to injury in the 1st period.

The Bruins are now at 18-10-5 which still has them at 4th in the MassMutual East division by victory points, 11 points behind the Caps, and 9 behind the Penguins.
They are also 4th in the division with a points percentage of .621.

What will be the lines today?

The lines were getting back to normal, but they are pretty messed up right now.

On the COVID protocol front, only Jake DeBrusk has not been cleared to play. Sean Kuraly is skating but is not yet in the lineup.

The Injury Report was calming down. Ondrej Kaše is skating, and Kevan Miller is practicing with Tinordi. John Moore had hip surgery last Monday and will be out all summer. but Brandon Carlo is out, week-to-week. Steve Kampfer has been practicing in his spot.

Lauzon was struggling in his return – don’t be surprised if he is paired with someone other than McAvoy – possibly Kevan Miller, with Grzelcyk on McAvoy’s left.

Pasta has been underperforming in coach Cassidy’s eyes, and was swapped down to Krejci’s line last game. This put Smith on Bergeron’s right side, and that was how they practiced yesterday, so we should expect to see it today. While Kuraly can come back, Senyshyn is expected to be on the ice again.

Tuukka Rask remains out. Jaroslav Halak will start today, backed up by Dan Vladař.

Tonight’s opponents are the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are ahead of the Bruins in the standings as ranked both by victory points, by points percentage, and are now 4 games deep into a win streak.
Players out of the lineup due to injury are Evgeni Malkin, with a lower body injury since the Bruins faced them on March 16th, Mark Friedman, on IR with an upper body injury, Teddy Blueger, Kasperi Kapanen and Brandon Tanev. Tanev is a game time decision. Casey DeSmith is expected in net again – Jarry was practicing, but is not playing.
