Danny, Danny, Danny! You can only do so much on your own. You, Darth Vladar, managed to command The Force to allow so many pucks to miss their mark, making save after save to keep your team in the game. Whereas your teammates have managed to post multiple games of 4 or more goals, last night they didn’t have that scoring touch. You held them at 1 for as long as you could. And had any of your 3 teammates managed to get in front of Travis Sanheim, perhaps you could have held off that final charge.

You did good, kid.

As for that final goal in overtime, Brad Marchand may or may not have been held by Nicolas Aube-Kubel (or it might have been mutual) and Patrice Bergeron tripped himself up while skating backwards (he’s perfect but not a defenseman or referee) leaving only Matt Grzelcyk skating from behind to defend that. Fun fact: he didn’t.

Vladar has been a refreshing breeze in a troubling second half of the season. Tuukka Rask continues to be plagued by a back issue and Jaro Halak recently tested positive for COVID, leaving Vladar, and second year pro Jeremy Swayman, as the next men up.
Swayman also seems like fun.
Jeremy Swayman, in full goalie gear, rips off a string of figure skating jumps at the red line. Impressive.

And he has an old school goalie number, last worn by Marty Turco.

The Bruins finally allowed the Flyers a win after 5 losses this season. The Bruins got goals from Karson Kuhlman

Again, the other team won. So boo!
At least tonight we should get to see Gritty.
That was frustrating. Philly was competent, but they weren’t that good. Same for Elliot. I want the Bruins to be able to close out games, and this is a problem. Lots of skating & passing with the puck in the offensive zone – do they really need to find the perfect shooting opportunity or do they just need to put the puck on net more? I suppose it helps with possession. If the defense were deeper, it wouldn’t be as important. At least they’re starting to get a low-slot/net-front presence again, and that is helping.
They have been missing Carlo, and Krug – Charlie McAvoy growing into his game has definitely helped, but the defense is just so thin right now. I don’t mind a little Zboril, Clifton or Kampfer, but that’s what we’re seeing all the time now. And Lauzon is making costly mistakes now in spite of his early-season successes.
The trade deadline is next Monday – I have to expect the Bruins to make some moves. Rumor has it they are looking at goaltending depth. Tinordi was a good pick up, but I think they need more. Or do they write off the playoffs and focus on next season?
Really??!! This is the first time I can remember that losing Tuukka and Halak hasn’t left them completely in the shit.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do though.
I read somewhere the other day that the further the Bs go in the playoffs the more money Jacobs will lose. Don’t know whether there’s any truth in that.
I think Smith is starting to gel with B rad and Bergy. Krejci’s line has potential, i wonder what Bjork or Frederic could do alongside the Davids. Ritchie has looked slow and is not winning battles along the boards. He does have net front presence, but lacking in other areas.
I do not want to see this season bagged. The Fab Four’s window is closing. I still think a run can happen. If there’s a lack, it’s on D. Columbus, LA, and Anaheim all appear to be sellers…. lots of D to talk about.
Good Morning!
Bad result last night…. so disappointing. Vladar looked great. Do we get to see Swayman tonight? That will be cool!
So a rep from the bank finally showed up here yesterday. Apparently had been trying to contact me for a while. Bottom line – they will offer us cash to vacate the premises. Not sure how much yet. The earlier we can move, the more cash they will give. Show me the money, mofos! I will stay here until doomsday unless i get one million dollars! or a couple Cokes and a Big Mac.
Awwww yeah!

Make it rain!
Morning all. The weather outside is:
Wanted to keep on walking and not come back and log into work.
At least it should still be nice out when you finish.
It’s turned again here – bloody freezing!
I feel like Old England and New England keep trading weather!
It’s staying light later, so we can all enjoy it after work. I will be working outside!!
Jealous! Good day to be outside. Feeling better?
Yes! Thanks. Much better and the appetite is back. I never lost taste or smell. I did not have a fever even though i felt hot and cold, so i never worried about covid.
I’m hoping to find a way to spend some time outside. I’ve been spinning my wheels at work, so I feel the need to be diligent. Normally, I’d blow off a couple hours and connect in to the VPN after dinner, and do a little extra to catch up, but with hockey 4x/week now, that isn’t happening, and on the weekend, I’m a mess of exhaustion, so can’t muster the energy to do any work then, either.
Hi folks,
yeah, that was disappointing, eh? At least Vladar looks very useful and right at home. We’ll get em next time!
Vladar is the hottest goalie on the roster right now. It hurts my brain a little to watch him, because he’s relying so much on athleticism – I’m so used to seeing guys like Tuukka or Price, who depend on being positionally sound and are quick to butterfly. Vladar will alternately rush out to poke check or fling a limb wildly to block a shot. It is clearly working for him – he reminds me of Jonathan Quick in that way.
Yeah, it’s certainly a very noticeably different style, isn’t it? He does sometimes seem to leave a wide open goal behind him in some positions, but suddenly gets across to block it off. I guess the advantage of having legs that long! Some of the saves in OT were ridiculous
Dude has some long legs!
