It’s almost unfair the New York Rangers have to continue playing hockey this season. One day removed from a front office upheaval and a melee of a hockey game which saw a 141 PIM assessed between the Rangers and the Capitals, the team from New York just didn’t have the drive or energy for a game against a “rested” Boston Bruins team. On top of that, the Rags had to play the team that was responsible for knocking them out of playoff contention. Sure, you could argue that the Rags kept themselves out of the playoffs but this is no place for philosophical ramblings; the Bruins are in and climbing and the Rangers are just trying to get to the end of the season, which for them takes place on Saturday afternoon.

Last night, the Boston Bruins dominated from start to finish. With Charlie Coyle day-to-day with an upper body injury, Jake DeBrusk slotted in on Sean Kuraly’s right side on the third line. As you will see, it was a boost of confidence that he needed. And young goalie phenom Jeremy Swayman earned his second shutout of the season, improving his record to 7-2 on the year. For the record, Tuukka also has two shutouts this season.
The game is best summed up by Conor Ryan of the Boston Sports Journal.
Final: Bruins beat the Rangers, 4-0.
🚨: Bergeron, McAvoy, DeBrusk & Carlo.
Jeremy Swayman with a 15-save shutout.
SOG in favor of Boston, 34-15.

Now that the playoff teams are set in the East, there is still room for improvement for the Bruins. With a game left against each of the Capitals and the Islanders, the Bruins will have to determine how badly they want higher seeding. The Islanders are on a downward slump since the losing Anders Lee and the deals at the trade deadline. The Bruins can take advantage of that. Pittsburgh has one game left and can max out at 77 points. The B’s could reach that if they win all three of their remaining games. Here’s hoping the Caps will roll over and die.

So, (stripes anonymous [I’ll figure out the sign in soon!) r
Since we live in the pool house, we opened the pool. Our very last summer in CT…. for sure this time, fuck it all, let’s go for broke and live like rock stars (even though we are way better than them ;-D ). Once I make the house livable (they’re never finished) I can spend more time in CT with Jo. August 1st, we are both in Mass full time. Til then… living it up
Morning all. Circling back to our Poland Seltzer conversation, Nugget is very intrigued by the pomegranate flavor. She jumps onto the end table and gives the bottle a thorough sniffing.
Can cats have fizzy drinks? I expect it would be quite a shock
She doesn’t seem too interested in trying to drink it. Just very curious about the smell.
I think it’s time catnip seltzer was a thing!!!
Morning all,
Yeah, the Rags were never going to be on top of their game for that one, were they? Still, I can’t remember last time I saw a team manage 15 shots all game.

Good Morning!
Yeah, the poor Rags. I love that tweet! Save those hot dogs for the Caps, fans!
The good thing about that game – the Bruins didn’t play down to the Rangers level…. Seems like everyone knows what time of year it is… time to get it done!
Heading back north today. Worked my butt off yesterday, but the pool is open and the lawn is mowed! Jo comes up tonight.
Woohoo! Hope you’re taking the weekend off.
Nice! Enjoy the weekend!
Put that hot dog down, New York! Hot dogs are for closers.
You can have the candy corn
Wait, you’ve got a pool! Awesome!
We decided that since pools change to cesspools in a hurry untreated, we should open the pool in Litchfield. Everyone has one, you know.
