Morning Free Association: Playoff Stuff

The Boston Bruins had a well-deserved day off on Wednesday. Presumably they will travel on Friday for the start of their first-round matchup against the Washington Capitals. I could bore you with stuff that Don Sweeney and Cam Neely said, but I will spare you. Okay, I’ll give you the videos you can watch them if you want.

If you’re a fan of podcasts and want to hear members of the 2011 Bruins Stanley Cup winning talk about that historic playoff run, then give Cue the Memories a shot. I’ve listened to every episode and I was entertained. I found it on Spotify but it’s definitely on the Bruins website as well.

And finally, the announcement that you’ve all been waiting for! The 2021 Stanley Cup Bracket is live.

Here’s the Bobby to Bergy League.

And here’s the Bearly on Topic League.

Soooo late this morn. Back up north after mowing most of NW CT, cleaning the pool, fixing plumbing malfunctions, and doing a lil laundry.

So late it’s not even morning any more – not even where you are!

Hope those malfunctions were minor ones

Morning all. Our trusty bartender stopped by the radio show last night. Kind of regretting the second shot of bourbon while being happy I politely declined the third.

Morning folks.

On the subject of cueing the memories – this day in 2013 was significant …

Bracket challenge is telling me it’s not open yet. I’ll keep checking.

Back at work today. Feels like I had more than one day off. There’s a lot to be said for getting out of the house on your days off – especially when you work from home.

At least once per week I need to take off from work and just go someplace – take a drive in the sun, run errands, etc. Otherwise I’m depressed & surly – which is something I’m not normally prone to – since I work in a windowless room in a basement, and don’t talk to other people other than via an overload of meetings which are of negligible value to me.

I’m glad I have a couple of things that get me out of the apartment. And with the living room now being work space, I tend to stay camped out in the bedroom on non-work days to give my brain a break,

Leah’s bedroom has become my usual office, which helps with the ‘separation’ element as I don’t go in there otherwise!

I can recommend putting a UV lamp in there! You got plenty of green plants?

Holy moly, was just googling and did not realize he played the hotel owner in Deadwood. I’m going to go sit in the corner and feel dumb now.
