Carlo, Miller, Lazar out for game 6.
Ritchie fined $5k for clipping Mayfield w/ an elbow.
Cassidy fined $25k for bitching about officiating.
Tuukka questionable for game 6.

Bruins absolutely dominate. Don’t get any calls their way. Shit on themselves on the PK. Lose.
The usual clods blame Tuukka.
This series is infuriating. I forgot how good the Isles are at playing spoiler in the postseason while not being a serious contender. The Bruins need to fix the PK. The Islanders are doing something to them that other teams haven’t done all season – perhaps it’s just the B’s putting bottom pairing d-men on the PK?

Barzal is really dynamic. Pelech is underrated. Palmieri is the perfect guy for their pp. Penalties incurred by St Patrice (or what some may call penalties) or B rad seriously hamper the Bruin PK

Is it a coincidence that Palmieri’s beard is back and he’s playing better?

And yes, to blame Tuukka is just ignorant

Someone said the Islanders were playing ping-pong in the slot to open up a shot. It was a good analogy.

2/3 of Toucher and Rich were all blame Tuukka. Granted, he had a bad game. But to just blame him and overlook the glaringly obvious problems:
4th line is playing terribly, with another injury last night.
PK is lacking their best killers, namely Brandon Carlo and Kevan Miller. With one or both of them gone, the PK has been bad, especially missing Carlo
The team cannot allow the Isles to outscore them because of the nature of their defensive game. The Isles gave them 4 last night but they gave the Isles 5.

TBH, Tuukka had no chance on most of those goals. And you have it nailed, missing Carlo and Miller is big…. the Isles set up camp in front of Tuukka. That does not happen with those big boys in the line up.

hey all, I think yall may remember me from a few years ago. Usually, when the Isles are sucking I jump on the bruins playoff train. Curious what makes the Isles not a serious contender?
I mean I have my reasons for thinking Leo on the first line ruins our chances at a cup this year. But when Lee and Wahlstrom were healthy we won the first 5 games against the B’s this szn. and made it to conference finals last year as well.
Pelech-Pulock is one of the top d-pairings even advanced stats-wise.
As for the PK yesterday I would say the bruins were not pressuring our guys enough, our PP is ranked in the bottom half of the league, for us to go 3-4 is nutso.

Hey there.
I have mucho respect for Pelech-Pulock. And agree, Leo on your 1st line is a strange fit.
If Lee comes back, that may open the door for you in my mind.
As to why I don’t think the Islanders are truly a contender — I think the big thing that killed the Bruins vs the Isles early in the season was the neutral zone. That is a major strength your guys have had. Since the trade deadline, the Bruins haven’t had the same issues moving the puck on NYI. I don’t have faith in the Islanders to consistently put up a lot of points on playoff caliber teams (last night’s weird game notwithstanding) and the playoff path is going to go through TPA/CAR & COL/VEG, who can all blow through the neutral zone and put up a pile of points.
While I think a slightly healthier version of the Bruins are better off than the Islanders, I would rate them as barely a contender.

I think your assessment is fair, especially if you rate the Brruins as barely a contender. I think the Isles will have a really tough time matching up with Tampa again… If the Isles even make it out of this round.

Morning all. Been watching the Handmaid’s Tale on a recommendation from a friend. Not sure why but I got it in my head I wouldn’t like it so I never watched it. Turns out, I like it!

Hi Pals!
Only saw the second (are we going to call it by other names again?) and the third. Gotta stay out of the box! The officials could be more helpful in that area..

Spent yesterday going to CT, getting our old Volvo (’81) on a trailer and bringing it north… picked the hottest day, of course

That’s still quite young for a Volvo isn’t it?

It is young! Only about 190k miles. I’ve been working on it for years off and on. Was put aside as I’ve been concentrating on the house….. but I will be getting back to the Volvo soon!

My old VW bug claimed it had 93,000 miles on it. Of course it only had 5 digits on the odometer, so your guess is as good as mine.

The odometer on the Volvo is stuck at 167k. I guessed that it is about 190k, but as you say…. Who knows? I did get it from the original owner and it has been garage kept until now!

Ah, the pet project car.
I had a 1970 VW bug for years – (got it ~1993) the thing was older than most of my friends. But the rate of decay was faster than the rate I could fix it up. I got a new car and stopped using it as a daily driver. Then I started using it less and less, until it sat in the driveway for about 2 years without ever getting the engine turned over. By this time, the “Flintstones hole” in front of the passenger seat got pretty big and mice started coming into the car.
So I sent it to a farm in the country where it could run and run…

Yeah, I don’t blame you. Thankfully I didn’t see all of it as I accidentally skipped forward an hour while watching the replay.
Another scorcher. I’m working but off the next two days. Wonder if the weather will change …
