On Friday, the Boston Bruins announced that they had signed RFA Trent Frederic to a two-year deal worth $2.1 million, a cap hit of $1.05 million per year. Needless to say, many people were pretty stoked for this.

Trent Frederic on a two-year deal at $1m AAV is a great place to start when revamping, energizing the fourth-line presence. Frederic, 23, brings a nice blend of skill, toughness and attitude, allowing him to get under opponent’s skin. Plenty of room for growth, too. #NHLBruins https://t.co/7TibJacZYr

I’m pretty excited that he’ll be able to pester the likes of Tom Wilson and Alex Ovechkin for another two years. HE MUST BE PLAYED FOR THOSE GAMES AGAINST THE CAPS.
A few Freddy photos for ya.

It’s a pretty smart signing in that it gives him two more years to work things out and become an everyday presence on whatever line (4th or 3rd) he plays while still not burning any of his UFA time. He’ll still be an RFA when this deal is up.
There is one caveat: he will likely remain unprotected for the Seattle expansion draft. Surely the Kraken will have their choice of unprotected forwards from each team but his third year pro status and the fact that he’s locked up at both attractive term and cap hit will make Kraken GM Ron Francis take an extra look. To tell you the truth, I might rather Seattle take him over the projected Connor Clifton just because our defensive depth is very important.
Anyway, TFreddy is signed and we’ll worry about the rest later.
SatanDad is very happy. He entered a raffle to benefit the local Meals on Wheels and won a free pie.
Free pie is the best pie.
No, that’s wrong – the pie that I get to eat is the best pie.
Morning all. Had a dream last night I boarded a plane to go on vacation except the pilot forgot he was scheduled to fly and never showed up!
And LB, I was also apparently married to Sebastian Vettel. Can you tell we’re in the midst of a triple header!
Haha! He’s Sonia’s favourite
Ha! Nice!
Hiya folks,
So sad about Pasta’s son. Unimaginably awful.
Glad Freddy re-signed. Hope they actually play him a bit.
I was wondering who was expected to be taken. Cliffy’s a useful depth guy, I guess that’s the kind of player we’re going to lose. Had to look it up but Colin Miller went in the Vegas expansion draft.
Wimbledon starts today, so of course we’ve got two weeks of rain to look forward to. Not sure which is worse out of that and your heatwave!
Oh, hadn’t heard about Viggo Pastrnak. That’s sad – I hate to see that happen to someone who get’s so much joy from children.
Can’t get the insta to load – but the screencap is everywhere.

Utterly heartbreaking. All the thoughts to Pasta and his girlfriend.
Colin Miller went in the Vegas expansion draft.
Miller was still highly touted at that time! He was faster skater and had the hardest shot at the AHL all star skills thingy and led the Worchester Sharks to the Calder Cup the previous season
Good morning!
I forgot that Ron Francis was the Kraken’s GM. Francis is the superstar who gets it. Francis was a poor man’s Messier, of sorts. He did it with grit and fundamentals, not with super flashy skills. He hired Rod Brindamour (I forgot where his apostrophe goes…. \_0_/) as Rod is the same type of player. He will draft accordingly so, yes, TFreddy will be appealing. Let’s face it, the Bruins are going to lose a good player.
In spite of the heat, I bagged boating for the whole weekend. I need to get us out of the cottage we are renting asap. Gotta get back to it. Who we rooting for in the SCF?
Whenever I hear ‘Ron Francis’ I think of ‘Russ Francis’. Always have. It confuses me every time.
Go stones!
Though I suppose I probably win one of my brackets if the Bolts win it.
Oh, the brackets – I forgot about that. I’m dead last in the B2B league – nothing more than I deserve for picking the Pens!
Ugh. I failed to put in a bracket…. I never would have put the Habs in the final, though…… even if they were the only team in their own conference, I would not put the Habnots in the SCF
How did you get on in the Boater-X? That was this weekend, right?
Tampa!
Yeah, I know they’ve got people’s backs up by playing the system but if there’s loophole in the rules it’s up to the league to close it and teams are well within their rights to take advantage. Not very sporting, I know, but it’s a big-money business and bending the rules to maximise your chance is justified. Maybe that won’t be a popular opinion!
The Habs hate has cooled having not seen them play a game for the thick end of two year but it’s the Habs! Nah.
Yeah, I can’t root for the Habs. Ever. The only way I’ve ever been able to root for the Habs is to knock Toronto out of the playoffs.
You know how lots of fans are still irrationally angry about the 2018 SCF?
I feel that way about 1976-79. Fuck the Habs.
People are really upset that the Caps won in 2018? I thought the thing was that Sharks fans were upset that a noncall allowed the VGK to go to the SCF.
Really? You know what I meant.
I don’t. Unless you mean 2019 for which I am not over the trip of Acciari in Game 5. When I get to Game 7, I will be really pissed from what everyone tells me.
A Bruin fan can not root for the Habs, EVER! Just testing the waters.
I did not compete in Boater- x.I was very disciplined, worked all weekend. I need to move out of the cottage we rent by Wednesday. Jo got on the river yesterday with friends. I will definitely be involved in the rest of the events this summer. Just had to suck it up this weekend. On the plus side, a bunch of the young boaters came by to help move stuff for us. An awesome community.
Oh, you bagged boating – sorry, I misunderstood that. Hope you get the accommodation sorted soon.
