Ah, preseason! That time of year when you’re excited about hockey returning but the games are being played mostly by prospects hoping to make the big team roster. It’s also hard to have the enthusiasm when your team’s most tenured player is a seldom played 7th defenseman while the other team is playing their top line winger who’s already in midseason form.
So, yeah, it wasn’t a terrible game. It was a bunch of the kids and a couple of newer guys giving the Rags a game. Tomas Nosek had 7 shots on the night. Jack Studnicka was close behind with 6. Linus Ullmark went 11-13, Kyle Keyser 7-8. But the player who had the roughest night was probably Brady Lyle, an offensive defenseman who didn’t get on the scorecard but was on the ice for all three goals against the Bruins.
Brady Lyle is a minus-3 through two periods for the Bruins. Very talented offensive defenseman with a big shot, but he's shown ample evidence in camp that there's still some work to be done on his defensive game before he's NHL-ready

Lyle was paired with Urho Vaakanainen, who despite scoring a goal of his own, was still -1 on the night.
But the real stud of the night was Jack Studnicka. He scored a goal midway through the second and assisted on the one by Urho later in the same frame.

Honestly, I kinda tuned out after a while, so I can’t really tell you how anyone really played. It’s preseason for us, too.
Boomer tried to kill me this morning. Death by stairs. He was just so purely excited to go for a walk that he couldn’t help himself. Luckily, I didn’t fall and was somehow able to regain my balance quickly.
Then he decided that he wanted to walk across the street and then down the road. Where people usually speed and there are no sidewalks. We lived to tell the tale.
I need a drink.
He knows where he wants to be. He expects you to be on the same wavelength!
When I was a kid, my dog knocked me over and dragged me 50′ trying to catch a squirrel
That dog had nowhere near Boomer’s pulling power!
Morning all. The past few weeks have been on giant ball of suck. My boss’s wife passed away yesterday. She has been in the ICU for the past couple of weeks after suffering a brain aneurysm and then a stroke.
Ugh. That’s brutal.
I’m sorry to hear that.
Oh, that’s terrible
Oh man, that’s horrible. I’m sorry that things are sucky.
Oh no! Sorry to hear it!
I thought it was a hoot seeing the MSG/NHLN broadcast crew trying to make stories from this game.
Yes, the Bruins have a big hole at 2C.
No, Nosek & Studnicka are not in any danger of filling that hole.
Yes, scoring in any pro hockey game is good
But no, having 5 NHL players (including 3 of your best) score vs 5 AHL players isn’t telling you anything useful.
Hiya,
Saw the first period. Don’t really know enough about who was playing to form any opinions, but I was struck with how clean the passing was. Maybe I’ve just forgotten how silky NHL hockey is.
Would be nice for Studnicka to get more of a chance this year. I thought he looked decent last season and if he’s beefed up for this term he could have a big year.
Good morning!
Did not see the game.. Nice goal by Studs from Lysell! Some nice skills there. One doesn’t get a great sense of a players ability in these games. They are put in different situations to see how they handle them… Well, we may have found out a little about Brady Lyle….. Reasons the Bs have a coaching staff..
Leaves are changing here, but the cold rs seem muted, so far. If they must change, can they be brighter?
Yeah, I noted it was Lysell who he was working with on that. A promising peek at the new prospect.
On Brady Lyle, when I saw that Haggs tweet, my first thought was “Who?” The dude was a P-Bruin all season last year, so I should probably have known him – shows how much I paid attention to the AHL last year. Still, seeing the Panarin-Strome-Kakko line feast against a guy who has played 25 minor league games, well that’s just silly and meaningless.
Pretty muted up here so far as well. They need to get in shape, we’ve got tourists coming!
I think that the foliage will be affected by the amount of rain we had this year. Okay, not the rain per se, but the amount of sun the leaves get during the summer combined with cooler nights.
^This makes sense^
