Remember when we were younger and more naïve and thought that we were happy that the Bruins were playing another game. Maybe you were excited that they were playing a team they beat the stuffing out of seven times last season. Or maybe you heard that former Bruins legend Martin Jones was in net for Philadelphia. Well, things didn’t turn out quite how we’d have liked.

It started off rough and then turned into a dumpster fire. Swayman let in 5 goals on 24 shots. The power play came up lame in its only attempt. And the team was sloppy with plenty of turnovers, some of which resulted in goals against. And the team lost Nick Foligno during the second period to an upper body injury. Which makes me wonder if Chris Wagner will get the call-up to replace him at right wing on the third line.

I don’t really feel like recapping, so here are the people you might want to hear from.

Moring all. Had fun reminiscing with my cohost last night about TV back in the day. Remember The Movie Loft on TV 38?

OMG, I loved the Movie Loft! So many films, and just at the level of what I was looking for at the time. (I wasn’t gonna be sitting through a Jean Cocteau experimental flick as a kid, but something 2 years out of Hollywood? sign me up.)

And when trying to remember the name last night I may or may not have initially called it The Movie Attic.”

I think The Movie Attic is where I learned to love “rigatoni westerns”

You know – classics like The Good, The Bad, and the Meh, Fistfull of Lira, and the follow-on For a few Lira More

Fun fact – Fistfull of Lira was a reimagination of the earlier Rashemon – the animated pocket monster film by noted Japanese director and psychokinetec, Akira Kaneda, who in turn, was inspired by earlier American westerns by director John F-150 like The Seekers, Stainedcoach, The Man Who Shot Liberty Drape etc.

Swayman actually wasn’t that bad. There was a 5-hole he should have gotten though. And he’s gonna have to plan where he’s going to send rebounds before the shot happens.

What was bad was the 2-on-1’s they were giving away. Farrabee remains a Bruins-killer. And I could have done without that 150-foot empty netter.

Bruce Cassidy on Nick Foligno’s exit:

“Upper-body. He just pulled something. … Hopefully nothing serious, but wasn’t able to return. So that’s never a good sign. So we’ll see how he is tomorrow.”

Morning all.

Yep, the D did Swayman no favours and vice versa. We know they can play much better than that. Shake it off and move on.

Only caught the highlights. Normally when I watch a replay of a blackout game I set the VPN to Spain. Turns out Spain is one of the countries where NHLtv is no longer a thing! I’ll have to use Portugal in future, but in finding that out I accidentally learned the result, and didn’t feel inclined to waste two hours on the full game.

Rained hard, solidly, for about six hours last night, and that has really freshened things up. Chilly today!

Back in my reffing days, I would stop at my buddy’s for a beer or two on my way home. We would watch Bruin or Ranger replays. My buddy had a strip of black tape across the bottom of his tv screen as the final scores from around the league, including the game we would be watvhing, would scroll along the bottom of the telly. A score revealed before watching.. No bueno!

Oh, I love the black tape, that’s a great idea.

On the NHLtv app, you can select to watch the full replay or the collection of highlight videos. It tells you how many videos are in said collection, which is basically the number of goals in the game! Super annoying. I try to make my eyes go out of focus on that screen!
