Morning Free Association: Mixed Bag

After what seemed like a few years in between games, the Boston Bruins played two games this weekend back-to-back. This lull in the schedule is the last we’ll see for a while.

On Saturday, the Bruins fully beat the stuffing out of the Flyers 5-2 in Philly, including 2 goals from offensive powerhouse Derek Forbort. Charlie McAvoy fought! These two teams hate each other. Linus Ullmark finally looked great.

Then back home on Sunday, the Flames had their way with the B’s, 4-0. Jeremy Swayman got little help from his seemingly befuddled teammates, especially in a sequence that saw him give up a SHG and shortly after, another goal when in each instance his team served up the puck to a Flames player in their own zone. At least old pal Dan Vladar had himself a game and a shutout.

The Bruins are back in action the day before and after Thanksgiving this week.

Morning all. Crawling towards Thanksgiving break. Very much looking forward to the four days to recharge.

Morning folks.

It’s turned chilly here. Still sunny though …

Spent most of the day sport watching yesterday. After walking the dog it was World Cup skiing from Finland (Killington next week, Sis) and the Qatar Grand Prix, while watching the Flyers game in instalments in between times! And I was happy with all the results! Very rare.

Last night’s game not so much. First two goals virtually identical. At least we’re seeing some secondary scoring – in the games where there’s any scoring at all, of course …

For some reason I thought they already did Killington. But I suppose not since the mountains are still getting ready to open! grin

Ah, so it will open the season over there, kind of? Should be a good atmosphere – the local racer is going for her fifth straight win there.

Looks like Killington opened earlier this month. Sugarbush postponed their Opening Day (I think it was supposed to be last week or this week. They usually try to open around Thanksgiving.)
