The good thing about the Western Canada roadtrip is that the games are later than normal so fewer fans will watch the Bruins absolutely fall apart. The games mean the normal amount, a potential 6 points, but there are no rivalries meaning that viewers can catch a period before venturing off to la la land for their 8 or 12 hours of sleep. Maybe if you want to see Connor McDavid skate circles around the team while Leon Draisaitl scores, you might want to watch some of Thursday nights game. But tonights game is against the Canucks, a team that just saw a management change from
topmiddle to bottom (more on that tomorrow.) Saturdays 10pm start time is enough for me to find something better to do.
The Good News:
Brad Marchand is back having served all three games of his suspension.
Charlie McAvoy is no longer sick.
Anton Blidh is back from his upper body injury.
Linus Ullmark skated yesterday morning.
Charlie Coyle and Matt Grzelcyk will travel despite not skating the past couple of days.
The Bad News:
Bruce Cassidy still remains in Covid protocol (I think) because Joe Sacco held the media availability.
Tomas Nosek has caught the non-Covid bug and will remain in Boston. Oskar Steen was recalled from Providence.
Jakub Zboril will be re-evaluated in two weeks for his lower body injury.
#NHLBruins practice updates per Joe Sacco:
▪️Charlie Coyle & Matt Grzelcyk did not skate but will travel
▪️Tomas Nosek (non-COVID illness) will not travel
▪️Jakub Zboril (lower-body) will be re-evaluated in two weeks

Patrice Bergeron had a procedure on his nose after yet another break this week, presumably against Nashville where he got bonked in the nose. He will be able to play but needs to wear a full fishbowl for the next two weeks.
Patrice Bergeron had his nose reset. Broke it vs. Nashville.

Yeah so Patrice Bergeron's nose is for sure broken. Again pic.twitter.com/4gpJBEkFpi

Bergeron says this is his sixth or seventh busted nose. He’ll have to wear the full shield for a few weeks.
Said the procedure was more about helping his breathing than anything aesthetic: “I think the modeling career is already over at this point.”

The Bruins face the Canucks tonight, the Oilers tomorrow, and the Flames on Saturday night.
