Morning Free Association: Two More Points

Last night the Bruins won against a depleted New Jersey Devils team. The Devils were missing a lot of their players.

Still, the Bruins had a heck of a time winning. The Devils were looking for a 5th win in a row. They didn’t get it.

The story of the night was secondary scoring. Other than one from David Pastrnak, the Bruins goals were scored by Curtis Lazar, Oskar Steen, Trent Frederic, and Brandon Carlo. Steen’s goal was his first in the NHL. In his 5 games this season, he’s 1-3-4. That’s not bad.

Usually the Bruins have a hard time against Mackenzie Blackwood. Not so last night. The problem they had was being scored on, allowing 3 goals through the early part of the third. They really needed to step up to outscore Jersey.

Next game is on Thursday against the Wild. It’s like they’re daring me not to watch.

Finally scheduled my booster shot!

I did mixing & matching – I’d gotten Pfizer for the initial two shots and Moderna for the booster. Was generally stiff all over from the Moderna one after having few effects from Pfizer.

Of course, now I find myself mutating slightly

I’m Dolly Parton for all 3. Only had a sore arm. I did schedule the booster for the Friday evening so I’d have the weekend in case it does knock me on my ass.

Morning all. I didn’t hear about Dougie’s broken jaw. That really sucks.

And I really hope my cohost has watched the new season of Cobra Kai because I really really need to talk about that ending with him!

Wow, already binged that one, have you?
We’re currently trying to get through as much of last season’s RuPaul’s drag race before the next season starts this weekend. I’m a little confused as to what I’d like to watch when GH isn’t around – I just got through Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and Locke & Key, and playing catch up on an old season of RPDR so I’d remember who the old contestants were on RPDR All Stars.

I’m all like “I’ve been watching too much drag queen content!” (I know — is that even possible?), but my other streams just dried up.

My cohost and I unashamedly love Cobra Kai. It’s so dumb it’s great. William Zabka absolutely kills me in that show.

Haven’t watched Bly Manor. I really liked Midnight Mass, that’s a good binge. I also really liked Locke & Key. Went into it blind. It popped up in my Netflix recommendations and I really got into it.

Morning all. Fun game. Not one either goalie will be proud of but the Bs were due some puck luck. Hopefully it gives them some confidence for the Mild, who aren’t so mild this season apparently.

Made some Mozzarella this morning! Didnt turn out exactly as I expected but still pretty good and was fun to make.

We watched Dont Look Up on Netflix last night, which seems to be the latest thing that’s polarising opinion. I thought it was really good.

Speaking of cheese, still one of the best commercials ever:

I’ve been avoiding Don’t Look Up because I think it’s going to push some of my buttons which are already damaged from recent overuse

I’ve seen it described as a comedy. I wouldnt call it that. Certainly satire but if you watch it, dont expect a comedy.

I’m jealous of the cheese thing! Yogurt is not cutting it versus cheese… Jo! Fire up Amazon! We’re hunting cheese!

Sonia was asking whether I can make yoghurt too. I assumed I need some sort of culture? For cheese just need citric acid and rennet.

It hasn’t been vs the Bolts, the Caps, & the Leafs, but 3 wins is still 3 wins.
Finding secondary scoring is a very good thing. I hope they can make it last. I’m still a little uncomfortable that the top forwards aren’t looking anywhere near as effective as I expect them to be.

Considering how reliant they have been on the top line in previous seasons, it is a bit odd. Pasta’s goal was a beauty last night though. Maybe he goes on a tear now?

The top three will do what is expected of them at the appropriate time. Bergy and Marchand are aging. It will take them a bit longer to recover from things like Covid every year. Layoffs, etc take a little time as one gets older (I’ve heard). It’s all about being healthy at the right time. Fingers crossed, eh?

Good morning!!
A win is a win… Nice to see this team finding ways to win. The Bs got their fair share of lucky bounces yesterday. Just keep throwing the puck on net, fellas. Anything can happen.
