Patrice Bergeron met the team in NYC yesterday morning for practice. Prior to Wednesday, Bergy had practiced a couple of days with a red no-contact jersey. The reason why he was out for 3 games might surprise you.

After practice, Bergy was declared medically cleared for tonight’s game at the Islanders. But he did not have another concussion, which was the original concern of many fans after seeing the awkward way his head hit the boards. He had a laceration that needed to heal.
Patrice Bergeron is good to go. Did not have a concussion.

Patrice Bergeron said he did not have a concussion after he fell against the boards last week against Pittsburgh. He did have a laceration on his head that needed time to heal.

🎥 Patrice Bergeron on missing the last three games with a head injury: "I just got a laceration on the back of my head, needed some time to get stitches…wanted to make sure everything was back to normal before getting back on the ice." pic.twitter.com/1VcVeBLnD4

In his media availability, Patrice said that it was better for him to evaluate his future rather than get back to playing too soon, which is absolutely the way he should think.
Now that he’s healed and back to work, the Bruins will await the results of Brad Marchand’s appeal, which is happening tonight. As far as appeals go, this is practically fast-tracked because he’s only missed 3 games so far. However, I wouldn’t get your hopes up that he will return prior to next week at the Kraken. Since he’s in town, he’s practicing, too.
Brad Marchand, in town for his suspension appeal later today, is also practicing.

They are definitely decisions you can make.
Morning all. Cohost had to cancel at the last minute because his dog had a no good very bad day and ended up in the cone of shame. Poor girl.
And if anyone can tell me why I have Gangsta’s Paradise stuck in my head, I would greatly appreciate it.
I wonder what ever happened to LV. I’ll have to google that later.
Oh cool:
“Larry Sanders can often be found joking with youth and managing the grill at Green Meadows Park while working to creating a community of peace, positivity, and laughter in South Los Angeles. Larry, often known by his rap name, “LV”, is also an accomplished singer who provided the iconic vocals for Coolio’s hit “Gangsta’s Paradise” and has lived his whole life in the community.
Each summer, Larry works with UPI’s partners Chapter TWO, and the GRYD’s Summer Night Lights program, to keep the park open after dark with activities for families to discourage seasonal spikes in violence.”
Gangsta’s Paradise always takes my head right here
I forgot he did a parody!
Stayed up to watch the women’s gold medal hockey game last night. Not feeling super alert this morning. Just had to stop myself from pouring coffee in my cereal.
Oh, I’ve been there!
I only know the score. Was it a decent match? Fair result, etc?
It was a decent game, the result was as expected. The U.S. team had some flaws – they weren’t really getting in on net, so while they were on par with the Canadians, on shot counts, the shots weren’t from good angles. The Canadian team was able to generate more plays, got a few more high probability scoring opportunities, and were able to shoot more accurately.
The NBC commentator was referring to them as “opportunistic” – which is true — but they were on par winning puck battles & slightly better skating & passing. I’m surprised it was as close as it turned out to be.
You know it’s the one game Team USA wants to win more than any other. Ah well, not USA’s year…. in so many ways.
Hmmm… Hall – Bergeron – Pastrnak is intriguing.
Reilly – McAvoy is definitely two defensemen’s names next to each other.
I just found out that Sonny Bono (of Sonny and Cher, for young’uns) was Anthony Keidis’ (RHChiliPeppers frontman ) godfather…… and my mind is completely blown.
Yeah, Cher used to babysit AK. His Dad was a big part of the LA social scene as a small-time actor/drug dealer. I’m not a massive RHCP fan but I read AK’s autobiography last summer. An interesting life!
I am a huge RHCP fan! I think they are the greatest American band of the last x amount of years. The funk infusions!! So, i guess now you know that about me.
Good morning!
I think Bergy needs one more year… Get to the 1,00 point plateau, make one more push… Of course, that’s the fan talking. Bergy has nothing to prove to anyone. Still, I don’t want to think about the Bruins without him.
We did get out for some windy, icy disc golf yesterday. I wore ice cleats (Stable icers, highly recommended) Jo couldn’t find hers. She had to be helped through some of the course. We had fun.
Speaking of windy, Holy Schnikees, the wind is insane today. You can hear a gust coming up the valley, then we get thirty seconds of violent wind. Lather, rinse, repeat all night long.
Gusts to 55mph today!
