Last night’s game between the Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils had everything. An old metal head throwing a slab of rubber on an ice rink, men punching each other in the face and then hugging, men flinging small black objects into a net. The password to get in is “WOOOOO!”
It’s hard to say whether the game by the Bruins was a chance to prove they aren’t the team that we saw lose to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night or if they were taking out their frustrations on a less fortunate team in the Devils.
Regardless, the B’s proved they could rebound from the loss the other night. In fact, they made history last night scoring 6 goals in the second period, including this one by new Bruins, Marc McLaughlin.
Welcome to the NHL, Marc McLaughlin.

McLaughlin played 3RW last night giving Craig Smith a night off. He was part of the lineup changes that also saw Anton Blidh in for Nick Foligno, and Mike Reilly and Josh Brown as the third pairing over Derek Forbort and Connor Clifton.
Josh Brown made his presence known early when he played punchyface with something called a Mason Geertsen in the first.

But, Brown may not be in the next game since he left the game with an UBI.
Cassidy says Josh Brown left with an upper-body injury because of hit he took in second period.

Mike Reilly also tussled with noted Bruins killer Miles Wood after a good hit with a questionable result against Charlie McAvoy.

Good to see a little snarl from the D.
Matt Grzelcyk was the first scorer just 57 seconds in.

New Jersey only scored once early in the game just as their power play expired. Jack Hughes (J’accuse!) was that guy.
Jake DeBrusk broke the tie.

It was almost 9-1 and a hatty for Marchy. Almost.

That was the final.
Prior to the game, the Bruins honored recently retired netminder Tuukka Rask. I’ll have more to say about Tuukka in a future post. He deserves it.
A career for the books.

Marchand was robbed on that hat trick. The off side man already had a foot over the bench wall.
Lame.
And WTF was Subban trying to do?
Morning all. Very much have all the excite for heading to Boston this weekend to hang out with Satan81, Phony, GH, IW, Trixie, and Katya!
I am so much excite!
Are we all doing dinner on Sunday before the show?
I now expect goalie hugs all the time!
Morning all,
Well, that was a good way to bounce back from Tuesday’s disappointment. A good way to go into a game against Columbus too – only two teams in the whole league have let in more goals than they have.
Great to see McLaughlin score on his debut with all the friends and family in the house. That must be pretty special.
I am annoyed with Stephen King! On his recommendation I have been watching a Norwegian crime drama, Borderliner, on Netflix. Unfortunately the season ended with several loose ends, and was not renewed! Damn you, King! I might demand that he write a second season himself …
D’oh! Somewhat related, my cohost didn’t realize the series finale for Ozark was split into two mini seasons. He was very confused about the ending until I explained the rest was coming in April!
Haha – yes I’m looking forward to that myself. This month is it? cool
