Morning Free Association: Good News Everyone!

After practice in Pittsburgh, Bruce Cassidy gave some updates about players…practicing back in Boston.

It turns out that barring a setback today, Linus Ullmark will return to game action sometime this weekend. Of course, this weekend is a back-to-back against the Rangers and at the Canadiens.

David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm also hit the ice at Warrior. They’ll be ready “soon” with no guarantee that that means this weekend. But they’re closer than they were.

Finally, the B’s announced that the final two home games will be when the annual awards, Shirts off our Backs, and Seventh Player will be awarded. On April 26th, against the Panthers will be the night for the Annual Player Awards and Shirts off our Backs. On April 28th against the Sabres will be the Seventh Player Award. I didn’t vote for it this year because I didn’t want to fill out the whole form to enter the contest, but if I had I would have chosen Erik Haula.

The Bruins play against the Penguins tonight in Pittsburgh at 7pm.

The Penguins again? I really DGAF about those guys this year. Just looked at the standings page – the fancy cats are on an 11 game win streak. Eeesh! So now they are #1 seed. I hadn’t realized that. I’m much more interested in seeing the Bruins play the Atlantic teams than the Metro. Would be interesting to see if the Bruins’ playoff spot moves around. Still only a point behind Tampa and 2+ ahead of Caps & Pens.

How about that scoring? 4.2 goals per game on average – and 20 more than anyone else overall. Crazy

Good morning,
I think Haula is the Seventh Player Award winner. It’s fan voting, so who knows? Fans may go for Jake. I think Ullmark would not be a terrible choice, either. No one really knew what we were getting in Linus, but he has been more than adequate.
Got out with a fellow forager for a short hike yesterday. Showed him my ramp patch (one of them, anyway.. wink ) and we saw promising signs of a bountiful spring. Dude is a mushroom expert and inquiring minds want to know.. i want to know.. where the fungi?

Yeah, Haula would be my choice but there’s no shortage of candidates.

Saw your ramp pic on FB. How do you serve them?
