Late last night after I had already half-heartedly written a post, word broke of something truly newsworthy. So, up the stairs I schlepped to get this news out: Patrice Bergeron is coming back.
Hearing Patrice Bergeron has decided to return likely on a one-year deal with the Bruins.

Joe McDonald was the source of the scoop. For years, Joey Mac has been known as a players reporter in that he develops relationships with players that cause them to be a little more candid with him than others. Now, I’m not saying Patrice spoke with him but someone who knows Bergy did.
We’ve seen other older players come back for one-year deals so there’s nothing saying that this upcoming season will be his last. But it feels great that last season wasn’t.
In other news: Tuukka Rask is currently playing with the Boston Pride (LGBTQ+) this week using Patrice Bergeron’s skates and Charlie McAvoy’s stick.

Apparently this is part of his new job as Hockey Ambassador for the Bruins. This is important work to make sure Hockey is for Everyone.
Tuukka and family will be headed back to Finland for a couple of months this summer once the kids get out of school this week, but they plan on living in the Boston area for the foreseeable future
