Morning Free Association: BIG NEWS

Late last night after I had already half-heartedly written a post, word broke of something truly newsworthy. So, up the stairs I schlepped to get this news out: Patrice Bergeron is coming back.

Joe McDonald was the source of the scoop. For years, Joey Mac has been known as a players reporter in that he develops relationships with players that cause them to be a little more candid with him than others. Now, I’m not saying Patrice spoke with him but someone who knows Bergy did.

We’ve seen other older players come back for one-year deals so there’s nothing saying that this upcoming season will be his last. But it feels great that last season wasn’t.

In other news: Tuukka Rask is currently playing with the Boston Pride (LGBTQ+) this week using Patrice Bergeron’s skates and Charlie McAvoy’s stick.

Apparently this is part of his new job as Hockey Ambassador for the Bruins. This is important work to make sure Hockey is for Everyone.

Am not sure what I think WRT Bergy – I’m glad to see him back, but this feels like a down year for the Bruins. I suppose that if Marchy was gonna be out for a couple of months, they’d be missing a team captain w/o #37.
(Granted, I look forward to the chaos that will happen if we have a captain Marchand )

Good morning!
Woo hoo! Hopefully this is just the first bit of welcome news! I can’t see the Bs tanking a season. Not in the genes. Leave that crap for the Sabres, see where it gets ’em.
Tampa probably loses in o\t again tonight. Warriors on that team.
Still muddling through. First flowers on the tomato plants! Lots of ’em. No finer place than the garden in the morn. Ommmmm

Our tomato plants haven’t grown much this year, but there are fruit on there! Will be interesting how they turn out. Already had lots of strawberries.

A house a couple of streets away has a banana tree. Small fruit usually appear on it around September and then the weather turns. This year he already has loads on there. Could he actually get some proper bananas this year?! Surely not.

Bananas? That’s awesome! I hope it works out for him.

Here we have Paw Paw. A native banana like fruit that I want to grow! I want to do the Native American tradition…. Maize with beans growing up the stalk. Squash between the corn stalks

Ahhh… the complimentary crops trick. I looked that up for cabbage, and they suggest thyme with cabbage to discourage certain moths, and I think sage w/ tomatoes. Both of which I sorta have, but they are ~4 feet away as opposed to tightly interleaved.

Hmm… I’m jealous – my tomato plants are still undersized. Am growing fewer plants with tiny tomatoes of a different variety this year. Last year we just couldn’t keep up – even with the heirloom tomatoes getting trashed by animals, we had 3 VERY productive grape tomato plants that were giving us a dozen ripe fruits every day.

Morning,

well, that’s good news if true. Although I can’t really see why he would come back for one last year if they’re just going to tank. Who knows? There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than any of us will ever know.

Glastonbury festival this weekend. That means rain!

Despite music being such a huge thing to me, I’ve never been to a festival! Not a major one anyway.

Luckily the BBC has fantastic coverage. On the website you can choose your stage!

Youtube keeps recommending Glastonbury Festival videos. Does seem like a fun time, though also a lot of people!

I haven’t been to a large outdoor music fest in awhile, obvs. But they are great! Been to Newport Jazz Festival and Newport Blues Festival, a bunch of lesser known fests. So much fun… what I ‘members
