Yesterday was a well-deserved day off for the Black and Gold so they could rest up for tonight’s matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. I have to admit I have no idea what’s going o with the Kings other than they’re building a statue for Dustin Brown, I guess. And Dustin Brown retired in May, which is news to me. Okay, I really have no idea what is going on with them.
Wait, I do! They buried Cal Petersen by sending him down to the Ontario Reign just days into his 3 year $15M deal. That means the aging Jonathan Quick’s backup is journeyman Pheonix Copley. Yes, that’s how his name is spelled.
Looking at the standings, the Kings are third in the Pacific with the same number of points as the surging Kraken with 4 games in hand. They’re on a brutal 6-game eastern swing with a record of 2-2-1 coming into tonight. So, this could be a trap game if the Bruins fail to start on time.
The game is on at 7pm.
Morning all.
Hope everyone is ready for the snowpocalypse!
Nope. I had to run out yesterday and pack away my 1-ton pallet of pellet fuel before it got too dark because it was sitting on the driveway. Now I’ve gotta winterize the fuel in some big power tools so I can store them before tomorrow.
Yay.

My cow-worker’s son is supposed to be flying home from Montana tomorrow. They are all pretty much accepting fate that he will get stuck in Chicago.
the first time I got stuck in an airport overnight was in Chicago. I seem to recall that it sucked.
I spent 7 hours in a plane at the gate as things were being deiced. That was 2001. Nowadays, YOU CAN’T DO THAT!
Heading to no cell or wifi zone. I miss my peeps out when i’m out there. Home tomorrow for snowmaggedon!
Stay warm. Watch out for them ‘white walkers’

Good morning.
The Kings? Yes, I remember them, vaguely. Does Anze Kopitar still play? A potential trap game again, yes, but hopefully the incentive f keeping that 0 in the home-regulation-loss column will be incentive enough to keep the boys sharp.
I was planning to go into the office today for the first time in a while. But it was a bit chilly last night, so when I got to the train station this morning the trains were all to cock and I remembered why I don’t go everyday any more!
It’s our department Xmas bash tonight, so hopefully the trains will be running a bit more reliably later on and I can get into London.
Kopitar does still play. He’s very Bergylike. He’s only won two Selke Trophies, but has been a candidate in other seasons.
“Footloose. Is it still the greatest movie in history? ”

Kopitar is their captain now. And he’s scoring some points (10g/17a/27p). Yeah, the Kings are solid this season but not spectacular. Should be fun.
London needs to start setting the train tracks on fire!!

I’d seen video of guys dowsing rails in skunk oil & lighting it – which would explain why so many railroad ties seem to have surface charring in addition to the discoloration from the creosote preservative.
Well, it’s worth a try!
Good morning,
The Kings. They still have some of the core guys, but fewer and fewer. Like the Bruins, they are trying to get back to that elite level. Unlike Krejci, Dustin Brown will not be returning to give LA a boost. They’ve added Kevin Fiala and Phillip Danault. They ard not nearly ready to beat the Avs, Oilers, and Flames on a regular basis, but they’re headed in the right direction. They could upset the Bs if the Bs don’t start on time, as GH has suggested.
I am hurting after another day of construction. Going to turn this gig over to my buddy, who is 25 years younger and more skilled. I suddenly remember why i retired. Going up the mountain today, but i want the maintenance gig up there, not the construction gig (it’s a yoga retreat). One day a week would be grand.
It’s almost got to the point where giving up an early goal or two isn’t a massive concern in the way it has been in recent seasons when consistent scoring has been an issue.
That could be a dangerous mentality to fall into, however…
Yup. This is definitely a team that can com back from a one or two goal deficit, but they certainly can’t count on it.
