Sometimes a blowout is exactly what you need to see in a huge manatee game, especially when it’s your team, the Boston Bruins, serving up the catastrophe to the opposing team. That opposing team being the Philadelphia Flyers just makes it better. Even during the bubble year of the pandemic when we only played a handful of teams, beating Philly each and every single time felt great. Yesterday was no different.
Yes, the Bruins won it 6-0 (QUOTA!) with Jeremy Swayman getting his first shutout of the season.

He had to do most of his work early before the Flyers lost their will to play and then live. They still had some fight in them based upon what kind of shenanigans they tried on many of our players. For instance, Hampus Lindholm’s face apparently took a roughing penalty against Zack McEwen.
The fuck???? McEwen hitting that sweet pure Swedish meatball of a man Lindholm??? Greer you know what to do

But let’s talk about the man of the hour: David Krejci skated in his 1000th NHL game, all of them as a Boston Bruin. He’s only the 7th player to reach that mark playing solely for the Bruins. He reached this mark on the first shift of the game.

His line, The Czech Mates Line, was responsible for scoring 4 of the 6 goals, Pasta and Zacha with 2 each, and Krejci assisted on 3 of those goals. Each player on that line had 3 points on the night.

“He’s like my big brother. He’s 10 years older, but at the same time one of the closest friends I’ve got. At first I was idolizing him. As a kid I came into the league young and learning from him every day and now we are one of the closest friends." — @pastrnak96 on David Krejci pic.twitter.com/z1H76tBNqj

Brad Marchand and Matt Grzelcyk scored the others.
One of the fun moments was when Travis Konecny and Nick Foligno had an exchange. Both would go to the box but Foligno was caught on a hot mic.

It was nice to see this moment at the end of the game.

Circle the date.
The #NHLBruins will honor David Krejci for his 1,000th career game with a pregame ceremony on February 20.

Next up: travel to NY for back-to-back games against the Islanders and Rangers.
Morning all.
Had a dream las night I was on a bus with Giancarlo Esposito and we were bringing someone to visit a dam because that’s what she wanted to do for her birthday. The dam also had a nice gift shop. It was a lot of fun…minus the worker uprising that was happening while we were there.
Don’t buy a dam thing!
Good morning,
Philly is not good. That’s all i got.
Going back to bed for awhile as i feel like crap. Must split more wood later, but not feeling it.
Was happy to see that game end. The first 45 minutes were a joy to see the Bruins rolling, then it became let’s preserve the shutout, then the Flyers started having little tantrums, then the parade to the penalty box got old, then a guy started spewing blood on the ice (I assume his nose got broken) from a high stick. I was just done at that point.
It was noted goon Patrice Bergeron who done it! Really the league needs to have a word with that guy.
I know what you mean. The Leafs game had the right level of nasty. This one went a bit too far.
A shutout for Sway, but, let’s face it… Stevie Wonder could have shut out the Flyers yesterday.
Morning,
Not exactly a classic game but a great result and a memorable one for the man of the hour.
Predictably he looked pretty uncomfortable as they marked the occasion. A ceremony on Feb 20, eh? He’ll hate that
!
Day off and I’m spending it trying to learn Ableton Live music software. Mostly by trial and error, and mostly error so far but feel like I’m starting to make some progress. Any super users on here?
