Last night’s game had a definite playoff atmosphere to it. The game speed was amped up. The players were chippy. Even the Tampa Bay crowd was loud and involved. In the end, the game was decided by just one goal.

Brandon Carlo was not having a good night as he was on the ice for all three goals against. For some reason he was off and ended up flubbing on two situations that led to goals. On the first goal of the game, a power play for the Lightning, Carlo seemed to go off assignment, backing up Derek Forbort when he didn’t need it, leaving the net unguarded.

His second gaffe was on the eventual game winner Victor Hedman, when a backwards skating Carlo collided with Linus Ullmark leaving him unable to tend the shot by Victor Hedman.

Carlo is better than this but the peanut gallery already is trading him to Vancouver and Calgary.

Anyway, the Bruins had some goals themselves but never had the lead at any point in the game, which is not a good thing for them. Hagel’s goal was in the first period, a frame in which the Bruins had no answer. Brad Marchand scored a goal on a 4-on-4 sequence in the second.

Very early in the third, Nikita Kucherov shot off the faceoff for the go ahead goal.

To be fair to Carlo, there was nothing he could’ve done to prevent that. I mean, Ullmark also couldn’t either.

Having recently found his scoring game, Pavel Zacha tied up the game with some help from his fellow countrymen 1:26 later.

And then, well, you know, Hedman. Sigh.

The Bruins travel across the droopy appendage that is Florida for their next game on Saturday night at 6pm. Bears. Fancy Cats.

Morning all.

Blue skies and sunshine this morning! Really nice to get a little vitamin D therapy. Much needed!

And in Sis is not too bright stories: Was sitting on my couch yesterday evening drinking my tea and noticed my apartment was rather chilly. Seemed odd because it wasn’t that cold outside. Anyhoo, went to check the temperature on the Rinnai and noticed I had it set all the way down at 60 degrees! And the funny thing is it’s been set at that for a a least a week or two because I really don’t remember the last time I adjusted the temperature and I haven’t noticed. Nugget and I are nice and warm now! lol

My Dad has his at about that temperature on purpose! Needless to say, I haven’t visited him for a while … (he comes here, I should clarify)

Ha! My parents tend to keep a chilly house, much to Ben’s chagrin!

Good morning,
Lose ’em now. Win later. Very few games matter now. Stay healthy, play the game the right way, don’t do anything stupid like trading Carlo. That’s the formula for success. I’ll take Carlo over most second pair dmen. He’s starting to get some grit in his game, too. All the better.
Got a lil work to do ’round the house. How did all this stuff get done when we had jobs? I DON’T KNOW!

Perhaps the most valuable thing I learned while on furlough (apart from the fact that all my money is spent on transport and going to the pub) is that even with all the time in the world – there’s STILL not enough time!

It’s long been my dream. “Some people” will need some convincing, though lol lol

I do have a dartboard and a bottle opener in my shed – that will have to do for now!

My favorite Calvin and Hobbs quotes:

“There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.”

Yeah, the team is still in good position to run away with the President’s Trophy, just stay healthy, win the games you’re supposed to. A loss in the regular season is a source of film to study to learn to win the next one.

Man, I was not ready for a playoff atmosphere game last night. That was… a lot.
Hopefully we don’t get too many of the Charlie-into-the-boards events in the future.

Morning all,

losing sucks but it was a hell of a game and like all the Bs losses this year, you’d think they’d have a good chance of turning it around the next time the teams meet.

Carlo is better than this but the peanut gallery already is trading him

I’ve noticed there’s not a lot of love for him on the socials. Maybe he hasn’t worked out quite like it looked as if he might he’s still a damn good player to have on your second pair IMHO.

Thank god McAvoy is ok after that crash into the boards! Bet he’s sore this morning.

That Czech Mates goal was a thing of beauty.

Oh, I stayed up to watch some of the game live last night, and to get in the mood I was catching up on some Behind the Bs. Not to take anything away from Cassidy, but Montgomery seems like a great presence in the locker room.

Great charisma. He’s like one of those teachers who really makes you want to learn their subject. A lot of players have noticeably lifted their game this year – I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s got a lot to do with it.

No one said much, at first…. gradually things have slipped out regarding Cassidy. His style is working in Vegas, and probably will thrive for a time…. the only thing they don’t put on your coach’s contract… they day you get fired! :-0

The coaching change has worked out well for everyone. It’s clear this was the right call all around.
