On Saturday, the Boston Bruins continued their winning ways this time against the New York Islanders, the new look, Bo-Horvat-having Islanders. Did I say winning? It was a drumming, 6-2. This wraps up the season series between the two teams, which the B’s won 3-0. This also makes 3 wins in a row after they laid a giant egg against the Capitals in the first game back from the break.
🎥 Nick Foligno on the #NHLBruins 6-2 win over the Islanders: "We just talked about getting a home win. The other night we didn’t get one here coming back off the break and it ticked us off…we wanted to get back to that today." pic.twitter.com/M8EjOA2sgc

What’s been great is that the Bruins have showing everyone the rumours of their demise were greatly exaggerated, first by coming from behind and winning in overtime (Stars), shutting out the other team while putting up 5 (Predators), and Quota-ing the opponent (Islanders); they outscored these opponents 14-4.
Today the Bruins face off against their chaotic evil nemesis, the Ottawa Senators. The Tootsies have defeated the Bruins twice at their home arena outside Ottawa this season. And that has been very annoying. But today there’s no way they will lose after honoring David Krejci for his 1000 games in the NHL and as a Boston Bruin. David Krejci was reported as saying he has a bunch of people in town for this ceremony.
After this home game, the Bruins go back on the road, this time without their supportive siblings. On Thursday night, they’ll be in Seattle facing the Kraken, the first team to defeat them at TD Garden. On Saturday night, they’ll be in Vancouver at a decent time 7pm. On Monday and Tuesday they’ll have a back-to-back in Edmonton and Calgary, respectively.
So that’s where the Bruins will be in the next week or so.
Glad this didn’t turn into “how cute, a rookie goalie. be nice to him, guys”
Hah – the organist forgot to play the Canadian nat’l anthem first, and Todd Angilly was totally confused by the intro to the US Anthem.
“Ohh-ho Canada?”
He finally gives up and goes acappella.
He’s also baaack….. Jake!
Left shot defensemen…. Jake McCabe is having a good year on a bad Blackhawks team. $4 million per year, free agent in 2025. Salary is an issue with the longer term, but if Chycrun is somehow a possibility, why not McCabe?
Good morning,
Never mind the Tootsies, here come the maple leafs. Blockbuster deal for the Leafs aquiring O’Reilly and Acciari. I did enjoy watching them lose to the ‘Hawks last night. They have the four lines now. Wouldn’t be surprised if they got some help on D, where they are still suspect.
Tootsies at 1. Might have to go somewhere and watch.
We had game night, well afternoon, with a couple river friends yesterday. Nice.
Collected the cash for the kitchen make over! Woo hoo! More money, more money! Also, happy landlord has more work for us, but needs time to make more cash. Perfect, take your time.
BTW, he’s baaack! Guapo Diablo in da house. He is the sweetest little brat, ever!
Yay, el guapo!
I’m waiting for the results of the Ottawa game before I dunk on the Leafs for their last outing – I’m not in the mood for the spoilers from north of the border. TCB. Don’t let them tootsies get ahead in this game.

Trade deadline activity ramping up. While the Bruins are already playoff-ready, watching other teams like NYR and the Leafs bulking up their rosters makes me want to see something happen in Boston, but it’s hard to see what. Not sure that grabbing a LHD – as per scuttlebutt Elliotte Friedman is reporting – does much beyond keeping ’em out of Toronto’s hands. With the Bruins cap situation, they can’t really get anyone with term left on their contract, because it would be too costly to get salary retained. I feel like they could reasonably find an upgrade for Smith, Nosek or Greer, replacing any other forwards on the roster would be really difficult, and who would want to come here if they don’t expect to make the roster?
The other eastern contenders making moves does make me antsy, but moves for the sake of moves is just panic. Yeah, a lil depth on D wouldn’t hurt, but somebody would have to go. Hasn’t Smith cleared waivers once already? Can he just be sent to Providence?
