As the Bruins players head west to Seattle, rumours are heating up on the home front. Tales of having a deal in place, not having one, and shopping a player to make it all work have been the stories of the day. They have to make it all work soon or the player they want will be swept up by another suitor.
Vladislav Gavrikov is the player the Bruins want. Currently he’s the top LHD on the Columbus Blue Jackets after Zach Werenski suffered a season-ending injury back in October. At 6’3″ and 221, he’s got size but isn’t a very physical D-man but is known for his defensive play in his own zone. The Bruins, who need to go all in, seem to want him but the price is high: multiple draft picks a 1st, a 3rd and a 4th.
…#CBJ won't wait forever. It's understood that if another team swoops in with a competitive/better offer, they could go that route. Ball (or puck) is in Boston's court as they try to make the $ work. Adding Gavrikov could surely eliminate Boston from the Chychrun talk. (2/2)

Moving an underperforming Craig Smith will be tough and I can’t imagine that happening without sweetening the deal with either picks or prospects. The Bruins’ pool isn’t deep but they’re all in, right?
And that is the consideration that the Bruins brass needs to make — being all in while not completely depleting their future.
I’ve had Alanis Morrisette’s Ironic stuck in my head for a week now. I think it’s because rain on your wedding day isn’t ironic, it’s just bad luck.
Maybe there had been a record-breaking drought prior to the wedding day, but she just couldn’t think of a way to work that into the song?
Morning all.
It is really nice out.
Yes! Been out splitting wood and playing with Guapo. We’re going to take him for a walk before the clouds roll in. Snow at 5pm today.
Morning,
Adding some defensive depth makes sense as long as it doesn’t cost too much. Can’t say I know much about Gavrikov.
Back to work today and making lots of typos. It doesn’t help that half the letters on the keys of my keyboard have been obliterated!
Ha, reminds me of when friends called me Ekken thanks to typos when typing my name!
Haha! I can’t type an apostrophe. Always a semi-colon the first time. Damn muscle memory!
I’ve got a decent solution to my messed-up keyboard problems:

Cheap wireless keyboards. $25 USD and one gets a tiny USB dongle and a small-ish keyboard. I’ve got 3 computers – my work laptop, which is positioned awkwardly behind my big monitor, my personal Macbook-Air with the defective keyboard I have yet to replace, and my old i3 HP, which I use for work activities, but has software polled keyboard that does not work during high CPU. I found two small keyboards with similar size & feel for my desk, and a silly folding one for when my Mac doesn’t want to let me deactivate the lock screen.
However, it still doesn’t fix the “my fingers are covered in goo” or “I haven’t slept all week” problems
Hmm. Yeah Blutooth might be worth looking into.

Gavrikov’s first 5 seasons were in the KHL, this is 4th in Columbus
Seems like a decent depth D-man, decent size. Supposedly good in the locker room. Not a guy that seems an obvious choice to spend a lot of money/picks for, but probably a little better than his stats suggest.
I liked what I saw from him when the Bruins played the BJs, but not so much that I remembered who people were talking about when his name first was being dropped this month.
The apple keyboard! It messes with me.
Good morning,
Pretty sure the Bs have been shopping Smith all season. He plays a good game, but he can’t put the puck in the ocean right now. Maybe some other team could help, like the Wild in the ROR trade.
We got our couple inches of snow/ice last night. It did stick to the roads here. Very pretty morning with a lot of ice on the trees. Guapo loves the snow!
We got a dusting here. And sounds like we’ll get just a tad more tonight!
A lil snow every day through Saturday!
