How do you know that you made a great trade? I guess there are all sorts of metrics one might use but may I suggest you don’t have to think that hard about it: it’s when that player is voted one of the stars of the week. In the Bruins’ case, it’s Dmitry Orlov winning the NHL honors of being the First Star of the Week.
Orlov on TOP ⭐️

I mean if you’re going to come in and play LHD one game and RHD the next, score 3G and assist on 6 others in just the first 5 games, you’re probably a good pickup.

Orlov and his fellow Bruins will be off from game action until Thursday night when the Oilers roll into town. In the meantime, players are practicing and recovering from bumps and bruises.
Morning all.
Almost for today is Town Meeting Day. Front Porch Forum is usually a busy place with everyone offering their opinions on who and what to vote for but it’s been really quiet this year. No hot button issues this year!
I missed our town meeting and a visit from our state rep … Arthur. Was cleaning while Jo was out and lost track of time
Wow, I actually think I got a good night’s sleep! Boomer slept through the night, I got back to sleep after waking briefly, and I was awoken by the sun at 6 or 6:30.
I’m glad to see some hints of spring, even if it is cold.
GH has an appointment with the orthopedist today. We’ll see what he says.
Glad to hear you got some sleep! Amazing what a good night’s sleep does for the overall wellbeing.
Yeah, starting to hear some birds in the morning. One of my favorite sounds.
This has been my week:
Not hearing too many birds, but we did have a pack of coyote hanging around last night. Boomer wanted to investigate, but I wouldn’t let him. If it’s one or two of ’em, then whatever, but I could hear at least four, and he’s got stiches that need to be protected.
Coyotes everywhere now
Good morning,
Yay! Good for Scorlov! He earned it.
The trade deadline has passed, finally. Teams can now try to mesh the new pieces with the old, something that hasn’t taken much time for the new Bruins. Time off to work on the power play is a real good thing, right now. Pps are funny. They get hot, they go cold. Hopefully, the Bs have two solid units clicking at playoff time.
Quiet days! Still plenty of snow, but the sun is warmer, nights are warmer. I love winter, but i’m ready for spring.
Maddie’s birthday this weekend and she wants to skate with Grumpy Joe. We’re going to Charlestown!
I knew that Orlov was a huge pick up, but he’s just been in on so much scoring! I underestimated him based on how the Caps used him and how good the Bruins D was at negating him.
It’s funny. I was talking with my brother, Dan, a few weeks before the deadline. The Caps D corps was pretty shredded by then and we could already see they might not make the playoffs. I told him then that they still had Orlov, who i felt was one of the most underrated Dmen in the league. I never thought he would be available, nor did i think he could be squeezed in capwise. Dan reminded me that i said i’d take Orlov on the Bs anytime. Montgomery’s offense seems to suit him. I wouldn’t mind if he and Lindholm were permanent second PP unit.
Lindholm does make every D partner better.
Definitely
One of the scouts must’ve seen something. He should be second star!
It just snowed here. For about 30 seconds, hahaha!
Yay!
Wohoo! Go Maddie! Future USA hockey all star!
And Grumpy Joe is the best grandparent nickname ever.
