Last week the Bruins started a road trip on a Sunday, the back end of a home-and-home and it didn’t go well. After getting spanked by the Red Wings, Chicago walloped them some more at a tune of 6-3. But then the Bruins remembered who they were to take on several playoff teams or at least teams on the bubble, or in the instance of the Sabres, on the bubble of the bubble of the playoffs.
This weekend the Bruins took care of business against the Minnesota Wild (5-2) and the Buffalo Sabres (7-0). In the former game, the Wild were missing key players like Kirill Kaprisov and Marcus Foligno. In the latter, the team was missing it’s mojo (insert joke about Marcus Johansson being on the Wild now).
Linus Ullmark technically let in 3 goals but due to the Bruins crack video coaches, Mat Myers and Sean Andrade, two goals were called back after challenges due to being offside.
Video coaches Sean Andrake & Mat Myers on being given the game puck following the #NHLBruins win over the Wild: “To have a positive impact on the game is really cool and for the guys to recognize that and give us a little cookie so to speak…it doesn’t get any better than that.” pic.twitter.com/e3wZFLA1d5

In Sundays game, they just never let the Sabres in the game at all for Jeremy Swayman’s second shutout in a row.

Arrrgh….
I just opened the clothes washer, and found that something unraveled in there. All of my clothes were tangled in a web of fine stretchy thread, and I had to spend several minutes to untangle each one individually. It wasn’t even obvious which garment unravelled. I may have narrowed it down to the waistband stitching on an undergarment???
Gaaahhh.

Did you get it unravelled yet? It’s amazing how much thread they use for stitching cuffs and things.
Oh what a tangled web…
Sunday was a good day for resume’ padding in the NHL. Swayman gets a shutout, Halak gets a shutout, Boldy gets a hatty, Bratt gets a hatty. Eichel scored a hatty. Bruins & Rags each dropped +7 on their opponents.
Yeesh
Morning all.
Starting to feel better. Just need to get those pesky Covid tests to say negative.
But those tests are so darn positive!
Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better.

Ha! Definitely the stage I’m at now. Ready for it to be over but still have the lingering effects!
Yay! Glad you’re feeling better. Things will get negative soon. ….wait, i mean positive. …. no, wait… i’m so confused.
Zboril with a pretty tidy game last night. As the team faces cap issues in the coming years, he may be a valuable asset
Yep, him and Lauko both pretty decent recently. Benefit of fresher legs a factor maybe? But another great advert for the Bs depth whatever.
I haven’t been assuming there was a lot of depth in Providence right now, but Lauko is getting it done!
Merkulov, McLaughlin, Ahcan, and Lysell are on the horizon. Joonas has been looking good, too. Gonna need 3rd, 4th line guys, too.
Morning. Happy equinox!
Anyone still worried about the Bruins’ lull? LOL!
Nice work from the video coaches, although they shouldn’t have been needed for the first one. Why the linesman couldn’t see a Wild player standing three feet offside right in front of him is almost as big a mystery as why it took the refs about two minutes to decide to overturn the call.
Awesome game from Swayman yesterday, and was that seven different scorers? So good to see them not get dragged down to the level of their opponent.
I noticed that the sun is shining directly down our east to west section of the valley…. yay! I am ready for spring.
That was satisfying. Hopefully they can both lick their (actual physical) wounds and keep ahead of the rest of the east in the standings.
Good morning,
This weekend could have been titled “How the Bruins Got Their Groove Back”. I guess it would go back to the Jets game or maybe the bad taste left by a loss to the Blackhacks. Whatever it was, the Bs seem to have shaken off the general malaise that had the team struggling.
Meanwhile, the Fancy Cats are making a playoff push. Right now they are 3 points behind the Isles and Penguins with two games in hand on the Isles. I think a playoff series with Florida would be unpleasant, at best.
Coyotes in the hood last couple nights. Last night they were right across the street, howling away. I need to practice my archery!
The Pens are having a bit of a slump as well. If they don’t beat Ottawa tonight (who are in even worse form) they’ll have questions to answer.
Tootsies vs Pens and Fancy Cats vs Red Wings tonight. Big games! Penguins are one of the few teams older than the Bs… and it shows.
