Slipping through the many cracks of the past week, the Boston Bruins actually signed a prospect. Matthew Poitras, a center who recently played for the OHL’s Guelph Storm, signed a three-year ELC that will begin next season. He was selected by the Bruins in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

And the Bruins team went on a trip across the pond to see some English football.
I’m glad they could go bond after blowing their playoff series.
On a different and better note, I happened upon this on Instagram: Why Snoop Dogg is interested in buying a hockey team.
Absolutely agree about that. People of color need to see people in all areas of hockey operation from playing, to management all the way up to ownership. Hockey is for everyone and representation matters.

Some great hockey this weekend. Devils bounced back vs Carolina yesterday. Leafs doing Leaf things vs the Fancy Cats. Steve Dangle is beside himself. Great stuff out west, too.
Got to spend some time out in the yard. Beautiful weather, although the black flies were brutal. Had three ticks get on me, as well. One, a deer tick, got me pretty good. I found the others before they bit me. I’ve had five or six on me already this spring. This is the first time i’ve been bitten. Damn it!
BTW, Poitras – 16 goals, 79 assists in 63 games with the Guelph Storm. Not Bedard numbers, but OHL plays a tougher, less free wheeling brand of hockey than WHL or QMJHL
I think GH & i are gonna enjoy the Dangle episode later today.
Ticks have been out down here too. I only have found one on me, but several on boomer. he’s got medication to chase them off, but is on antibiotics to beat down a lyme disease resurgence.
He’s gotten pretty determined not to take his pills – it’s a harsh task to get him to take his meds, and he’s got another week to go.

Hope the Bs enjoyed their time in London – although they didn’t pick the best weekend to visit! Pretty busy in central (I guess – I wasn’t there).
Enjoyed watching GB v Italy on Friday night. The Brits led three times but got pegged back before putting it to bed in the third period. Due to the points system Italy needed a regulation-time win (worth three points) to earn promotion, which gave the game an interesting dynamic. I think it’s something the NHL should consider. And the Stanley Cup was in the building for the game!
The Worlds proper start on Friday. Looking forward to see the rosters.
i like a 3 point system for a league that avoids tie games, but it can make the standings a bit complicated to unravel. Congrats on your guys getting promoted!
