Morning Free Association: November 15

It’s not often that you read an apology of sorts on a blog and when it is done it seems that it’s of the type that’s short in the frame of “let’s pretend this didn’t happen”. Noted hockey scout for the Red Line Report, Kirk Luedeke wrote an apology on his own blog for suggesting that Tuukka be traded back in April when the 2015-2016 version of the Bruins collapsed in the last month of the season. While it seems the Bruins fanbase definitely has strong opinions either for or against Rask, it’s good to see someone who had expressed doubt about him can acknowledge his initial overreaction. Game Day Thread: Blue Jackets at Bruins

The Blue Jackets are in town to tonight to take on our Bruins. Columbus and Boston each enter the evening with 14 points and 5th place in their respective divisions. The main difference between the two teams fortunes lies with the power play: Columbus leads the league with a PP% of 35.5; Boston is 23rd with a PP% of 14.6. Hopefully, the Bruins can stay out of the penalty box tonight. Continue reading

Morning Free Association: November 10

Sitting on my couch around 10:30pm, I complained to IW that I had nothing for the MFA. Typically, there is some scrap of news that can be used to start off the morning thread but on Wednesday, well, other things were happening. As I sat watching “Stan Against Evil” on IFC, the inspiration was served to me: the episode’s MacGuffin was a Bobby Orr stick. Continue reading
