So the post-deadline depleted Carolina Hurricanes came to Boston, and the Bruins’ struggles in their own barn continued.

Which makes sense. Playing Rask 120+ minutes in two straight nights is just friggin’ absurd. The game started out with a ton of intensity, all of which boiled up to matching minors from the 11’s, Jimmy “Mayes” Hayes & Brian Boyle for roughing. The pace of the 1st period is up there, both teams not giving up much, however both teams get some good chances. The game has some snarl to it, which is always entertaining. At 16:26 Chara goes to the box for high sticking. Marchand gets the best chance of the period however and is robbed by Bishop.
That was certainly an interesting game.
Our intrepid Bruins were on a mission to win three straight at home. Could they do it? They would have to avoid phantom penalties, obvious penalties committed against them that went unnoticed, and an appearance by old nemesis NO GOAL to win. Continue reading
Hey, the Chicago Blackhawks were in town again. Of course, many of us have very bad feelings toward the ‘Hawks stemming from that heartbreaking 2013 Stanley Cup Final, or that Chicago wants to permanently win the Cup by making spectacular personnel moves every trade deadline. So, when the Blackhawks come in to town and lose, it’s a Very Good Thing™. Perhaps, they just needed to have some home cooking. Sorry, Charlie, we don’t do weird things to our hot dogs here.
