Game Thread Bruins at Stars 2/20/16

The Bruins are in really, really, really southern Minnesota for their meeting with the Dallas Minnesota North Stars. Of Dallas. Both teams must just be lost. I can’t imagine this “Dallas” thing will last…
There’s a North Stars Alumni game coming up today, and Minnesota hockey fans are really confused.

Be it in Minnesota or Dallas (I get them confused) Tonight we get to see the Bruins’ semi-annual reunion with Bruins Alumnus Tyler Seguin.

Bruins Trade Deadline Preview Extravaganza

The Boston Bruins have exceeded the expectations of many prognisticators and have put themselves into a strong position to make the playoffs heading into the February 29 trade deadline. However, despite the strides made this season, they have significant deficiencies on defense that must be addressed if they want more than a one-round playoff run.

It’s clear what the Bruins’ need is: defensive help, particularly at the #3-#4 defenseman spots. The Bruins have the 3rd-best offense in the league, so acquiring an offensive defenseman doesn’t help much. They’re looking for stability in their own end. What are the defensive options available? What can the Bruins offer? What might be their game plan? Who might be willing trade partners?

Bruins-Preds Recap: Snoozeville

Welcome to the inaugural Game Recap here on Bobby to Bergy!

I’m afraid we used up all of our excitement on that first line alone. Bruins @ Preds Period 1B & 1C

So, who cringed when they saw that Weber slapper hit Tuukka in the shoulder within the first three minutes of play? This girl did.

It’s frustrating to see the Bruins have good zone time and then let the Preds in. Also frustrating to see that Krug shot sail across the goal mouth. C’mon guys, you can figure Rinne out!

Also, as much as I love Seids, I saw him on the ice way too much. You know what that means, TOO MUCH KEVAN.

Sigh.

Let’s hope that they forget that the first period is over and capitalize on that Power Play.

C’mon boys, let’s do this.

Bruins at Predators Period 1A

The Bruins (31-20-6, 68) continue their roadtrip at Bridgestone Arena against the Nashville Predators (26-21-10, 62) tonight. The Bruins are still 3rd in the Atlantic while the Predators are struggling at 5th in the highly competitive Central Division.

But that’s not what I want to talk about. I would rather that we focus on…the points leaders for each team. Of course, Perfect Patrice leads all Bruins players with 48 points. On the opposing side we have Roman Josi leading all Preds players with 42 points. Not bad for a defenseman.
