BOOM. Bruins win.

The Bruins won in St. Louis tonight.

It was the best of games, it was the worst of games. It was a game of defense, it was a game of offense. It was a contest of hope. It was a contest of despair. We had a win before us. We had a loss before us. It was an excellent game, it was a terrible game.

There were a few milestones: Ken Hitchcock coached his 1400th game. Claude Julien coached his 700th for the Bruins. Patrice Bergeron notched his 30th goal, for the third 30-goal season of his career. The Bruins scored their first powerplay goal against the Blues since 2009. There was a lot going on.

But, don’t let the milestones fool you: It was ugly.

Third Period Game Thread: Bruins at St. Louis 4/1/16

The second period was kind to the Bruins, and now they’re up 5-2.

David Krejci has a goal and two assists.

Matt Beleskey and Loui Eriksson are having great games. Patrice Bergeron remains perfect. Things are getting chippy. Pastrnak was hurt but came back. Kevan Miller was hurt and isn’t coming back.

Game Thread: Bruins at Blues 4/1/16

Happy April Fools’ Day!

The Bruins are in St. Louis tonight to take on the surging Blues. Things haven’t been so great in Bruinland these days, as we dropped our last game to the Devils, who are out out of the playoff picture completely. Wouldn’t it be nice if the Blues thought this game was an April Fools’ prank and stayed home? Those are two points I know I’d be happy with.

Everything is a mystery. The Bruins had an optional morning skate. Most of the guys who you think “Hey, he might need some practice” showed up for practice. Some other guys did not. What will the lines look like? It’s a crapshoot.
