Morning Free Association 3/15/16

On This Day in Hockey, the Sharks are looking for a new goal song, starting with this masterpiece:

The team used to play “Rock and Roll, Part 2” by Gary Glitter, but since Glitter is serving a 16-year sentence for sex crimes against children, I guess some folks objected on the flimsy grounds of “overwhelming existential and moral horror”. Pfah!
They then consisdered such cultural blockbusters as “Burn it to the Ground” by Nickelback. I’d thought they’d settled on a song by SixxAM (aka Nikki Sixx), which didn’t sound at all like that last one, but they are in the midst of a fan vote right now.

You know what that sound means, kids. That’s right, it’s a manatee game and the Bruins apparently had their coffee and beat the Islanders in a very important game to sit alone in first place (for now) by the score of 3-1.

Islanders vs. Bruins Huge Manatee Third Period Thread

Well, it seems like Period 1B was about to strike again but it seems like the Bruins forgot what period they were in and where they were and what time is was and now find themselves up by a goal (thanks, Pasta!) headed into the final period.

Can they build upon their lead? I sure as hell hope so!

OK, so that’s Halak right there in an awkward position, and we all know that as he’s out for about six weeks, Greiss is going to be the one starting in net today. Right now I’m banking on our Fine Finnish Friend, Tuukka Rask (sorry Kemp) getting the start in net for Boston.
