Good morning, everyone! When do we go on the road again?

Yesterday was the 36th anniversary of the Miracle On Ice game. While everyone knows Al Michaels’ famous game call in the final moments, there’s an interesting play-by-play by Curt Chaplin, one of ABC’s reporters. Cool story, and I think Chaplin did a better job overall of covering the game. You can go straight to the YouTube video here.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs Boston Bruins. 2/22/2016

The Boston Bruins (32-21-6, 70pts) and Columbus Blue Jackets (23-29-7, 53pts) close out their regular season meetings tonight at the TD garden. Tonight is also “First Responder Night”. Let’s hope the Bruins are the first to respond with the goals tonight. The B’s are 2-0 against the Jackets, with wins in OT & the shootout.

The Bruins need to be better at home where they are 12-14-3 after returning from a successful 4-2 road trip. Columbus has lost their last two games and have not lost three straight sense since 1/19 – 1/23.

Tonight’s Bruins lines

Columbus Lines
Hartnell – Wennberg – Saad
Jenner – Dubinksy – Atkinson
Calvert – Karlsson – Foligno
Rychel – Campbell – Bourque

Murray – Jones

Good morning, everyone! The Bruins are back home tonight against the Blue Jackets after a successful road trip. Here’s hoping they can start converting some of that road success onto home ice!

NBC Sports had a couple of nice pieces during their Hockey Day In America coverage night. One is an interview with Denna Laing and her return to the ice in a wheelchair. The other is about Doc Emrick’s visit with his hockey broadcasting mentor. I highly recommend watching both.

The Maple Leafs got an early start to their fire sale, trading Shawn Matthias to Colorado for a fourth round pick and a minor league prospect. The Leafs currently have 12 draft picks in the 2016 Entry Draft, and the record is 13 in a 7-round draft. With plenty of pieces still for sale, expect the Leafs to blow past that record by the trade deadline.
